Hi BeoGeeks!
I recently acquired a Beomaster 7000 with matching Beogram CD player and a set of Penta Lab speakers. The system was wired into a home audio system through the walls, so the connections coming from the Beomaster don't match the Penta Labs.
The Beomaster has the standard connections, which look to be a proprietary B&O multi-pin connector and two individual bare-wire jacks. The speakers terminate in a female RCA connector -- I'm not sure if this is the stock setup or whether these were modified for hard-wiring.
Given this, and despite searching a bit online, I can't seem to find a cable that goes Beomaster --> RCA.
If this exists, can someone point me to the correct cable?
Also: Does the faceplate of the Beomaster open up to allow control access or do I need one of the Beolink remotes to access the system?
Lastly: If I want to replace the Beomaster with a contemporary head unit, is there a specific model that will output a line-level signal to work with the Pentas?
Mange tak as they say in Danish!
You also have powerlink connections or speaker terminal connections on your Labs.
The BM7000 have powerlink and speakerlink outputs, you should use these.
You can also use a regular rca-rca cable from the BM7000, but the previous options are better.
You need a Beolink to control the system.
Any head unit with rca output can be used with the Pentas. You can even connect a iPhone or anything else directly.
"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"
Thanks for your reply!
After flipping over the Penta Labs, I now see the other connections!
One additional question: Do the terminals labelled "Speaker Link" take bare wire or a proprietary connector? If it's the later, can you point me to that?
Also: What does the switch labelled Audio / Video do on the bottom of the Pentas?
Thanks again!
There is a special speakerlink cable for the Penta 1 and 2 to have them connected to e.g Beomaster 5500 (have a few). Audio/Video switch to be set as the name already says. Audio for Audio equipment and Video for TV.

Thanks for all the info -- I am learning!
A few more questions:

If your pentas have powerlink connectinos, these would probably be the best to use. Get mark2 cables
Steve at soundsheavenly.co.uk has a very nice guide to choose your cables.
He will aslo help you choosing cables.
Happy new year and thanks for the help so far...
So, I received the Powerlink cables from Sounds Heavenly and hooked everything up -- however, I can't hear audio through the Penta Labs
The only thing I don't have is a remote control. Do I need a remote to turn up the volume or is there something I am missing?
Thanks!
Some pictures could help, cable received, connections on your BM7000 and Penta...
What does the volume display in the Pentas show? If it shows "--", the speakers are muted, possibly because you still have the headphone plug inserted, or the switch in the jack has stuck (a common problem). Also, try pressing the mute (right) end of the Beomaster front panel.

AceBase:put the front mode switches into Auto
Should be set to L resp. R.
//Bo.A long list...
Thank you Beofolks! I moved the switched into L and R and removed the headphones and voila it works!
I've ordered a Beolink -- while it arrives, is there any way to change radio station or volume?
Thanks again everyone!!!
You can actually step the radio program by pressing the front panel (at the end ominously labelled as STEP) but that's about it. Get a remote.

That is very true
Oh and you can mute/unmute and turn on & off as well.
