Hi guys
Had my BeoSystem 3 serviced today adding the joystick feature of the Beo4 and a software update. This was mainly to get my PS3 up and running with my re-bl box (http://www.re-bl.com/) I have had laying around for ages and also to be able to control my Apple TV. I might have not done my homework regarding this, the re-bl website says that I should be able to choose "Sony PS3 RE-BL" in my STB list, but it seems to me that the STB list is way shorter than I remember it from earlier and I can only choose "Sony Playstation 3 14" in the STB list. Problem is that I can't get it to work after the pairing process with the PS3 is completed.... This SHOULD be fairly simple, but no luck.... (I have tried with minijack from BS3 to re-bl box and IR-cable from BS3 to re-bl box.)
I am also not able to find Apple TV under the PC options either, but I'm not sure whether I'm supposed to find it, or not :) Any ideas?
Both the PS3 and Apple TV are connected and work just fine with their original remote controls, but I'd like to be able to only use the Beo4 having the components on the back of the tv with brackets from STB.
Grateful for any help or tips.
Regards
Christian

Seems that the puc-list was not updated - just the main software of the tv!
Did you tell the 'updating person' which devices, you wanted to connect/control?

Bugger-me! - olvisab was quicker (this time)
Yes, I have it in my e-mail stating that I was looking to get Apple TV and PS3 control. Had to rush in to Oslo today as they are shutting down the 1st of January. 130 kms one way, not very interested to do this again during the Christmas holidays.... :-/ Do I have to go back? Or are there any "quick fixes"? I saw that I could download STB via bang-olufsen.com, but with a couple of warnings regarding my Serial and cable provider here in Norway. (Haven't checked my BS3 Serial)
If you have one of the following products or if you are using Canal digital (Nordic) please contact your dealer before updating:
There are no 'quick fixes'!
What you can download on the B&O site, is the software for updating the DVB-tuner. That is an easy task.
But - are you sure, that you just did not find the entries (for those devices) in the first place?
Usually - when you configure the AV input port for your device - you see a list of possible compatible devices.
But these are divided into types - you can choose another type (DVD - STB etc) by using the right (or left) arrow in the middle of your Beo4.
And don't forget to mount the ir-cable!
Well, right now they can be happy I'm 130 kms away! Yes, I know about the left/right menus and what I am looking for is nowhere to be seen ;) This is really annoying and disappointing, I'll give them a call in the morning and I'm really interested in what they have to say, especially with them closing the door in a week. I fear this was €250 out the window.... :-/

Have you actually configured the sources in the connection menu or are you simply looking to see if the boxes are in the STBc list?
From experience, if the boxes are in the list, they only appear once you have selected an AV input and assigned which STBc socket (1-4) you are controlling the box with.
OR they simply aren't there and you will need someone with a laptop to add the missing boxes with the Service Tool.

I've got confirmation today, that they have not done what was agreed. I DO need them to do it again, the question is how. I don't consider my chances of them driving up to me to do this again to be very big, they are closing down and there's not much I can do if they won't come up here....
I told them that I was looking for Apple TV and PS3 Control both via phone and e-mail (so I have it in writing) and an sms from earlier today stating that the tech did not remember being told what to do, but if I did tell him, he was sorry that it hadn't been done. I understand that it is important to have a clear understanding regarding what is to be done, but my e-mail is clear on the point that I want my BS3 updated to Control Apple TV and PS3, and that I have a Beo4 with joystick. After yesterdays visit at the shop I have paid €250, used 6 hours, driven 260 kms on numerous toll roads just to get joystick function, nothing else(!), and that clearly makes no sense! I can't see what I should have done different, other than asking them what had been done before going home. That was a mistake....
Oh well, I'll just have to wait to see what they have to say to this, and how we can solve it....
Thanks for your replies, merry Christmas everyone! :)
Thanks, so do I! :)
I delivered my BeoSystem 3 at their shop, and waited a couple of hours as they changed a part (to get Beo 4 joystick control) and what I belived to be an update including PS3 and Apple TV Control. (PUC list, as I now have learned the hard way) There's no way they would hand me the BeoSystem back without paying, and I had to go back home to get it tested. As you might know, the BeoVision 9 weighs approx 130 kg, so the only option was to disconnect the BeoSystem 3 and take it to the shop in Oslo. If this had been done on location (in my house) I would of course have tested it/have them help me with the configuration, and then found out that the job hadn't been done as we had agreed. This will, of course, be solved, but I fear that I have to go back to Oslo to get it fixed. My initial post was to clearify if I had done something wrong, or overlooked something, so it was good to find out what actually was wrong and that is wasn't my fault, only my problem ;)
