Beosound 3000 not responding to keys, only remote through Beovision Avant

I have a 3000 with a master link into my beovision avant 32. The beovision avant is then connected to the bro lab 8000 and beolab 2. 

the problem is that the keypad (except load) on the Beosound 3000 is no longer responding at all. I can only start the CD player by using the beo4 remote through the beovision avant. If I connect the speakers directly into the 3000 then I can't do anything nothing responds. Neither the keypad on the 3000 nor the remote.

also when I do start the CD player through the avant link, via beo4, it cuts out after 2 or 3 minutes. I have just had he laser replaced by a specialist in Devon and he said that the laser was no longer functioning but tested fine once he had replaced it.

can anyone help me? 

I cant ant imagine the logic board is faulty because the LOAD button works fine. Only the rest of the keypad is unresponsive and I cant therefore put it into any diagnostic modes using the keys.. 

help!
