I was just brainstorming a bit regarding what to do with audio in my new house, as I find it a bit out of date to run Masterlink cables inside all of the walls in 2015.
I know that there have been different modifications done to the Beolab 3500, but as I understand the Masterlink cable transfers a basic analog Right/Left and Ground audio signal, and if this is true, wouldn't it be possible to make a mini-Jack to these three pins? or is there some form of communication between the Beolab and the audiomaster that will then be missing?
Hej Henrik,
Indeed there is 'some communication' going on.
Otherweise they would have done it as you suggest.
There is a tv - and there is a BV
@Henrik
I am having a bit trouble understanding what your basic question was
Was your question about what was in the title of your post?
Or was it about what was written in your post?

BeoHut:Hi Henrik! It is possible to connect an AE (or other input source like a Playmaker) to a BeoLab 2000/3500. This is many times discussed here on the forum. You will need a ML Converter box, type 1611, and a DIN cable for the source input. And a ML cable I have had this working for some time.

The thing is I wanted to pass the converter box completely if possible. I actually think I have one laying around somewhere, so maybe I should try that out to begin with.

It was meant to be the same question :)
I was hoping to connect the AE directly to the ML port using the analog audio input. But like you wrote earlier, there is probably some communication going on prohibiting it.
