Maybe B&O should become a partly Danish government owned company. At 90 years old, it's a part of Danish history, it's an epitome of Danish success & industrial heritage, and I for one cannot imagine a world without B&O, or living without B&O!

I'm certain the government as a part-owner would uphold all of B&O's values and preserve the essence of the company.

I can ensure you, that won't happen. All that the government do is keep raising taxes and charges.

Partly government owning would definitely not be a solution. Various Danish governments has sold out of all the biggest Companies in Denmark, that they have been involved in, only to get a short-term profit. They often sell to Investment Companies, who rip off everything of value, and leave an empty 'shell' - if the Companies survive at all. Lately they have just sold DONG -the biggest Company in the energy sector to ... Goldman/Sachs, of all Companies!!!

Well, in that case the Danish government sounds as bad as our Finnish government. Although I do think our government is set out to ruin the whole country...

Where's all the wise money? Apart from here at BeoWorld Big Smile

The Danish governement injecting taxpayers money into a private firm, just to save some jobs? Would you think EEC would allow this?No - thumbs down

As with all free democracies we get what we deserve. As long as most of us don't cast their vote at all, the ones living off the others surely make sure to cast their votes. Sad

It's funny as the "solution" is never more than 4 years away. A little change on the "hill" wouldn't hurt us. Yes - thumbs up

I agree, as a private business owner myself, I'm fundamentally against government intervention like this. The free-market usually stabilize itself.

When the British army bought the AH64 Apache, we insisted it be built by Westlands in Somerset. If we had bought them off the shelf, and then given each employee 5 years off with a million pounds to spend, we'd have saved a fortune! Happens all the time in many industries.

Chris, sorry to go off topic now...

‘Westlands in Somerset’ this keep me thinking of the old days, when i was at the plant. It was 1975, I was in the army and Belgium bought 5 new Sea King MK48 heli’s build under license in that plant. Those where the days, thank you for reminding me Big Smile
