Hi!

i have linked my BS 9000 and BV 7-40 to two BL 3500:s, one in the kitchen and one in the bedroom. The setup worked perfectly alright the first two weeks but now the connection to the bedroom BL 3500 is gone. All I see is two dots on the BL 3500 display. Since I did not have one single long ML cable I have used a total of four junction boxes to lengthen the ML connection with the pieces of ML cable I have. Two junction boxes inside the house and two outside. The cable goes outside through a drilled whole in the window frame, runs along the facade of the house and returns inside through another window frame.

1. Does a ML cable handle outside weather conditions? I live in Sweden and could be -15 degrees here. Notable that the kitchen BL 3500 works fine and that ML cable runs outside the house as well.

2. Is there a way to identify exactly where the signal breaks in the ML cable? Some kind of measuring instrument? I prefer not to rewire all the junction boxes...

Best regards,

Johan

Hi,

b&o technican have a test instrument to check what cord or cords are missing but all Products have to be disconnected, but cif you heck your junction box that are going to bedroom speaker so all cords are connected right, i hope you not install junctionboxes outside?  they have to be inside house

ML cable being multicore is easy to test.

Multi meter on one end and someone the other end with a piece of bare wire. Set the meter to tone or resistance . Pick any two colours and get person the far end to short the same pair. When you find the missing pair you can eliminate the individual wire by the same method.

Joints are the weakest part of any cable system. I have no idea of ML weather resistance only time will tell.

Lets know how it works out.
