With the arrival of the Moment, as well as my newly rec'd Essence, I posted a Question to the B&O FB page regarding my problem:

All my BS5/BM5 audio files have been saved in WMA lossless, as BnO recommended at the time. But these two new streamers don't decode WMA lossless, only WMA files that have some compression. Below is BnO's prompt response, rec'd this AM:

"Hi Barry, since you were asking specifically about the WMA lossless format: the BeoSound 5 has been enhanced (via the latest software update), to also do “on-the-fly” transcoding of WMA lossless to FLAC. This means that content you have in your BeoSound5 (even WMA lossless) will be discovered and playable in the BeoSound Moment."

Anyone here know about this BS5 update?

Just rec'd this reply from B&O Social Media Team on FB:

"Yes, using the BeoMusic App, content from the BeoSound 5 can be browsed and played on the BeoSound Essence.

However, the transcoding (from WMA Lossless to FLAC) is not enabled by default on the BeoSound 5. You need to enable it in the advanced settings menu - your local Bang & Olufsen dealer can assist you with this."

Great!

Surprise! an update to my BS 5, plus the Beomusic App, and all my WMA lossless files play with my Essence!

Terrific!

Thank you, B&O!
