Hi,
Everything has been said on this forum regarding its design but I would like to get some feedbacks from people ownig a Beoplay V1 on its picture and sound quality.
How good is it?
Thanks

BeoVision 11-46 full black - BeoRemote One
Hi Fredpert,
MM and Michael are the two guys to talk to regarding this. From what I've heard they love them.
Picture is good, on par with a basic £500 Samsung from what I could see but it's the sound quality that really shines. I friend of mine has one and when you watch action movies on it, it sounds punchy and hifi like! And his is the 32, I believe the 40 is far better in that respect.
Seems strange though that it's really hidden on the PLAY website - as though they are about to discontinue it! I guess its nearly 3 years old, so maybe there's a MK2 in the pipeline.
Thanks for your quick reply!
I actually might wait for a MK2 version as you said. I just ordered my first Beovision (BV11) but the Bang & Olufsen virus is growing in me ;)
I'm really looking forward to start playing with it. Installation is planned mid Feb... One more month to wait!
Cheers
Oh my gosh Freeport, BV11 is the best design in the world! NICE!
Have you asked an honest B&O dealer regarding the V1 and it's positioning? It just seems very weird that it's almost forgotten about on the B&O Play site. I agree with everything that Jans said. Of course, nowadays it's unusual for any LCD TV to be poor performing. I picked up three Sony LCD 32" TVs for £199 each for a student house that I rent out with a friend and the picture quality from Apple TV was incredible.
I agree!!! I ordered it with the black speaker fret and a black frame. I think the full black is really awesome. Although I was not so keen on the white contrasted logo, it should have been more subtle in my opinion...
I have a white V1-40 in my bedroom. Bought it as soon as it came out and it still works very well. The sound is amazing for the size and that is one of the reasons I bought it. Did not want any extra speakers in my bedroom, but great sound for late movie nights.
As others have already said it has the same system as BV11/avant so they can even communicate and share sources (audio). Friends often comment on how good the V1 looks. I think V1 is very nice and of quite good quality. It looks very industrial and "solid". I like that and how discrete it is, perfect for a room you don't want to scream high tech.
Beolab 50, Beolab 8000 x 2, Beolab 4000 x 2, BeoSound Core, BeoSound 9000, BeoSound Century, BeoLit 15, BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay P2, BeoPlay H9 3rd Gen, BeoPlay H6, EarSet 3i, BeoVision Eclipse Gen 2 55", BeoPlay V1-40, BeoCom 6000 and so much else :)
The black frame definitely in my opinion looks the best! As it's based on the work of Mark Rothko, it'll never age design wise :) It makes for a brilliant sound system too. All you need to ad is the Apple TV box. Perfect! Enjoy :) I'm sure watching a really nice movie on it will be a great experience!
I guess that all already has been said!
I love mine!!!
Did not want any other - wanted a small B&O tv for that room.
The 32" serves me as my second tv/audio - it is not linked up
Right now I am listening to Daniel Lanois - Flesh and Maschine through Spotify.
Pushed CD and entered Daniel L in the search field - took 15 second to get there.
No external loudspeakers - but a set of the BL3 is on the wishlist.
If you have the BV11 as well, it is a pretty good addition, because you easily can connect both.
The V1 is a very underrated tv - they should push it much more.
Some times I even use it more than my old Master-tv.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Agree with all the positive comments above. Had mine 2.5 years with no problems. It was my intro into B&O. The fact I have purchased more B&O says it all really.
Congrats on the BV11!

The V1's picture quality is pretty much as good as any other high end LCD, but not best in class. You won't be disappointed with the picture.
But the V1 has so much more going on than the picture. Whenever I think of my V1, the sound and integrated surround sound module comes to mind. The sound in the V1 is really great on its own, but I have a Beolab 14.4 connected to mine. The ease of use is just incredible!
Another thing is the IR-blasters. I love that one remote controls all my connected sources.
Those two things are the reason I can't go back to any other TV brand. Even though 4K OLED got my attention :)
Beovision Eclipse gen2 (GX) w/ floorstand, Beolab 14.2, 4 speaker Shape and ATV4/Chromecast.
Beoplay A9mk4 GVA, Beosound 1 GVA, H2, H3, H8, E6, Beoplay EQ

How do you like the Beolab 14s? I was trying to find another thread where people speak about the sound, but I couldn't find much, so your opinion would be greatly appreciated. If you would prefer to PM me that's fine to rather than me hijacking this thread with a non V1 question.
They really should read this thread in Struer
Very pleased with ours especially the sound , without resorting to extra speakers. The picture is pretty good and virtually everybody who's seen it has commented. It does not have the super exaggerated contrast I find in other pictures and ,in white with a light coloured room , the TV itself is less distracting .
Beo Century ,Beoplay V1, Beocenter 6, Ex-Beolit 12, Beotime , A8. Beolit 15 , Form 2i , Beolab 2000, Beoplay A3.Beosound 1
It is a good tv with a few adjustments the picture was spectacular when i had a home demo, a few things for me though which i don't like about the v1 is the hinges and the fact that it only comes in 40"
if they lost the hinges and changed the design a little bit and introduced a bigger size i would definitely buy one and I'm sure the benefits would be increased with my beolab 14s connected to it.

Ah - the eye in the sky
Thanks, Geoff - and a happy new year to you.
Yes. Thanks for a great sounding product Geoff !
The sound is amazing. Specially when you take the form-factor into account.
I use it for both music and movies, and haven't really found anything to complain about.
The bass isn't overpowering in music, but can still rattle the couch during movies.
I would recommend Beolab14 to anyone with a Beovision (Beoplay) tv. How it fares without the B&O sound engine I do not know.
Have 2 V1 32's……excellent picture and sound and very happy with mine.
Thank you all for those feedbacks, I wouldn't have expected such interest on a TV which is, as many of you have highlighted, a bit "hidden" in the B&O portfolio.
It's great to see that even on "entry price" products, B&O still puts a lot of love and passion when design intelligence is concerned.
When wall mounted, and the "hinge" become a handle for positioning, the V1 is a great part of the room.
The 40 does have bigger speakers too .
