Beocenter 7007 turntable problem

Hi.

Ive bought a beautiful Beocenter 7007 which sounds gorgeous and really powerful.

Everything works perfectly except the turntable

Basically if you hold the start button down the turntable goes at the correct speed on 33 and 45 but as soon as you let go it stops.

I presume there is some kind of relay somewhere that is supposed to switch to keep it spinning?

Any pointers before I begin to strip it down would be good,

Press PH to start playing records.
The other thing is for cleaning records.
