Well I know I'm setting myself for a virtual fisting here, but I have to say and sitting with a good glass of white and my Beolab 11 within touching distance, I'm actually looking forward to watching us and Malta not playing the annual game of sucking up to our potentially frightening neighbours.

Denmark....10 points.

Haha! I was wondering if anybody will admit watching them! Big Smile

It's an old habit for me, I've been following it since I was a kid. This year's lineup is pretty awful though - Sweden and Denmark belonging to the few entries that are listenable. My real favourites are from the 60s and 70s...

The Albanian singer was off her head. A fun but rather tacky, and I don't give a wine fuelled crap about admitting I'm watching it. Shame Terry Wogan isn't commenting. Predicting the Ukraine Russian vote is hilarious.

Of course. I think UK will get at least trois points this year, about 3rd from bottom and our best result for a few years. I've come to the conclusion that it's cool to either be at the top or bottom, any midpoint is unmemorable.

If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments.

I do believe you judging the wrong bits!Whistle Seemed like an Italian Amy Barolohouse to me!

My money's on Sweden!

btw - I think it's hilarious (in a very worrying fashion) that the Spanish entry has been asked to throw the competition to prevent incurring any national spending should she win!!Big Smile

Ban boring signatures!

Sweden was fab, Ukraine looked like a collagened tramp and .. Ireland was punchy and honestly Humpy did us all proud... well, let s see what will come out of all that musical gastritis.... may a good song win ... for a change

Oh well, that was it. I'm not too unhappy of the outcome.

I think this is still my favourite:

Cigliola Cinquetti - Si

...followed by Eres Tú, but I can't be bothered to dig up more links.

I have enjoyed it at my girlfriends parents with a delicious BBQ, otherwise I could hardly stand it. This year was not that good but the BBQ and the wine have been very good.

It's been on the slide since the zenith achieved with  "Sing Little Birdie" by Pearl Carr & Teddy Johnson.

Seriously, have you noticed how the singer's voices suddenly become 'ordinary' again after their performance if they shout something to the audience? It's almost as if their voices were electronically enhanced during the song. Surely not.
