There is extreme amounts of music out in the world that we never get the joy of listening to.
I would like to start a collaborative playlist on Spotify, simply called "Beoworld".
If you click the link, it will open in Spotify on your computer. You can then save/follow the playlist:
https://play.spotify.com/user/leosgonewild/playlist/3RFxz5POvWmhAF7L1SKIls?play=true&utm_source=open.spotify.com&utm_medium=open
Whenever someone adds a song, it will be "shared" to everyone else. This way we can get to listen to new, exciting music :)
A few rules for the playlist:
-do not erase songs from the playlist, once a song is added it will have to stay.
-do not add entire albums or catalogues,a couple of songs from an artist you want to share is enough.
-add whatever genre you want!!! Hard rock, opera, swing, classical. The playlist is made for discovering, not judging.
Have added a few song just to get started.
"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"
'click the link' - which link???
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
Now the link works.
That's a good boy
Excellent idea - well done that man!

Here is the "Now that's what I call Beoworld Vol. I" CD/iTunes playlist that we compiled in Oct 2007!!
Ban boring signatures!
Nice compilation Puncher. My AWARD goes to Lee for THE CULT - She sells sanctuary! What a blast!!! I have the full length CD single somewhere (now on my iTunes :)

With respect and admiration of the work you guys did back in 2007, I have added the songs to the playlist. Much music I have never hear before :)
Now remember not to only follow the playlist, but add a song or two. Would be great if people would add a song straight away when they start following the list
As it was quite popular at the time, on the run up to the festive season we also did a "Now that's what I call a Beoworld Christmas" album, on which we tried to identify good seasonal songs that weren't as popular as those you know and hate! (although, I recall, some folk didn't seem to read the brief)!
Hey Puncher,
just noticed you included my all time favourite track - 'Afterglow' by Genesis - though the live version on the 'Seconds Out' vinyl album is by far the best version.
An interesting mix of songs. I'll see how it develops. I don't stream that much so have very limited experience with Spotify and only a few favourite songs saved. I must have another browse.
Dave.

You wouldn't believe it but last night I meant to edit the post to add ("Seconds Out version") but promptly forgot again!!
IMO one of the very best ever live albums, both from the selection of tracks and the very high standard to which they are performed, - so many live albums are a disappointment and I can't think of another live album where the song is played and performed better than the album version.
Puncher: I can't think of another live album where the song is played and performed better than the album version.
I can't think of another live album where the song is played and performed better than the album version.
"Musta Got Lost" (J Geils) and "Midnight Rambler" (Rolling Stones) immediately come to mind.
Rich:I can't think of another live album where the song is played and performed better than the album version.
Humble Pie 'Rockin' The Filmore' is another double album that springs to mind and is also one of my all time favourites.
Brilliant idea! I've just added Mike and the Mechanics - Silent Running
Beosound 8, Beotime, Beocom 4, Beo 5, Lutron Rania, MacBook 15" (Mid 2015), iPad Pro, iPhone 6S, B&O Play H3, Beolit 12, Form 2, A8 Headphones, B&O Play A1, B&O Essence
Added for you...
Thanks Chris :-)
Aussie Michael:How do I add Sleep to Dream by Fiona Apple?
To answer the question for future reference - once you're following the beoworld on spotify playlist, find the song you want to add, click the little menu button next to it and select "add to playlist", then select the beoworld on spotify playlist.
I've just added St James Infirmary by Baba Blues, and Red Right Hand by Nick Cave & the Badseeds.
Martin.
Easiest way would be making a 'beoworld on spotify' search via Google.
This will bring you the link to the playlist rather quick.
Sorry - I was too 'quick' 😏
This was not about finding the list, but about adding to it.
My mistake ;-(
Thanks for the list, some nice music...
I converted the list to Deezer for listening on the Moment.
"Believe nothing you read and only half of what you see, let your ears tell you the truth."
This is a great idea!
I just added a song from an EP I was asked to engineer and play on, made in professionally built studio with an 24-track 2" Otari tape machine owned by a friend of mine. The post processing was done digitally in 32-bit 96 kHz wave as I didn't have enough time in the studio to make a mastering onto my friend's Studer B67 two track deck. The album cover was taken by me on expired black/white film and developed/scanned in my small single room apartment
The plan is to make on-location recording of local bands using analog gear, so I have bought an old 20/8 Fostex inline mixer and a Tascam 58 which is halfway through restoration. The pinch roller turned to goop, but I found a person who is able to add new rubber to the bare aluminium roller here in Scandinavia. The next project would be getting a mobile rack case and a bunch of different rack-mounted compressors, maybe a couple of gates and a reverb and of course a two-track 15 IPS open reel deck again. Sold my two loved Revox B77 mkII HS decks last winter and has regretted it ever since
Vinyl records, cassettes, open reel, valve amplifiers and film photography.

BS Moment, BS Core, BG 4002, BC 4500, BS1, BL18, BL19, BL8000 + RCV1, A6, M5, M3, A1, P6 (tks Botty), H5, TR1
Do a search on deezer for Beoworld and it comes up

One of the best show I've seen ... a while ago in Paris.
Was a great idea but nothing much has been added recently
Just tried to add a song, but it seems the list isn't public.
How do we add a song there?
Try it now :)
Is the playlist set as 'collaborative'? As I tried to add a song to no avail.
Or maybe it's just a filter that weeds out the kind of music I like, that would also explain it.
Collaborative is greyed out. Filter - how do I check that?
I think Leo who created the playlist has to set it as Collaborative (which I think it isn't since it's greyed out.)
As for the filter, that was just a failed attempt at humor on my part.
This is such a great idea! I have never used Spotify, but I just created an account to give it a try!
Beosound 9000 MK III, Beosound Century, Beogram 5005, Beolab 8000, Beolab 5000, Beolab 4000, Beolab 5, Beovision 8, Beovision 10, Beovision 5, Beoplay A2, Beoplay E8, Beoplay H6.
It is a great idea to download Spotify music without premium by using a third party tool. It saves the money and you can enjoy Spotify songs offline with problems.
I don't like the SPAM here on BeoWorld, but in this case I can almost let it go, as it has brought a great old thread to the top of the forum. :)

Spam?
I think we do pretty well actually! We always defeat the bots, and the only time we do get spam is when actual humans register accounts on behalf of spammers. When this happens we're always on it as soon as we can, then we delete that account so they can never do it again.
If we get a sustained 'attack' from a certain area we put a temporary block on the whole IP range for that region or country, or in severe cases we switch to 'moderator approval' for all new members.
We really do try our best, and it's really disappointing to hear that a member is unhappy. I can only apologise if you think Spam is a real issue on the site
