Hello,

I've got an Beo4 and I am trying to set up it for working. I have followed the directions to enter setup, but in it there is only several options to select: ADD? ; MOVE?; REMOVE?; OPTION?; CONFIG?/

There is no RESET or MODE on it?

Any suggestions to helping me?

Which Beo4 do you have?

There are a lot of versions/software versions.

Oh - and welcome to Beoworld, by the way Smile

Hello once again,

Thank you! Hope to be a part of this world for a long time! ;)

My remote is Beo4 - Type 1621/22/24/25.

I do not know the software, but this is the model.

That's the options you need... When you see ADD on the screen, you press GO - and then you can choose lots of options by using the arrows 🔺🔻 . And so on if you want to move or remove options. (I think that the older versions did not have the MOVE function).

As MM wrote, there are many versions of the Beo4. The first ones did not have DVD button. Later came the DVD button. Then the V.TAPE and A.TAPE buttons were changed to V.MEM and A. MEM. The latest version has a little 'joystick' where the GO button used to be.

(that was the short version of how to tell the difference - there are probably more, that I cannot remember right now) ;-)

As I wrote, when you are in the ADD mode, you use the up/Down arrows to find the functions you want, then press GO to save. Then exit.  You press the LIST button to see what options you have. If you want to move or remove options, it's the same as adding.

I understand it, but I need the MODE? option, because my Beo4 is not working with Beoplay V1, and I've read that that it need's to be set to MODE 1, but I canno't do it, because there is no MODE? option in the menu of my remote.

Oh - I see ;-) To set the mode you usually need to press a combination of keys on the remote. There is no MODE option on the remote.

You'll need the Manual for the V1.

That came with a sw version on the Beo4 with the joystick.

That's the one you'll need for the V1.

Didn't you get that one with the tv?

If you have a 16XX Beo4 as described, you won`t find the MODE menu. MODE is only used in 17XX Beo4 with navigation button.

MODE1 is for activating the special ir commands that you will need for your V1.

Try to reset your BV V1 to "Beo4 without navigation button" if this exists...(?)

If it does not, you will need a Beo4 with navigation button or a Beoremote one.

I've read the manual, I hold the standby button and press list button, i get to the the setup of the remote, but the only menus I see is:

ADD?

MOVE?

REMOVE?

OPTION?

CONFIG?

I've read on the manual, that there should be more than these I see, like RESET? and MODE?, which I need. Hope you got me this time :)

Yes - but it seems like you have an older remote. Didn't you get the remote with the tv?

Since you haven't answered that question, I'll have to repeat it.

Didn't your V1 come with a Beo4 with navigation button???

No, I got it as a present from my parents, as they changed to another tv, and this is the remote they gave me with it ;)

Then you need to ask them if they have one more remote for it Smile

You will find both Beo4 manuals in customer service of bang-olufsen.com:

- Beo4 w/ navigation button

- Beo4 w/o navigation button

There are also lexicons for extra buttons.

Hope this helps.
