Hello all

Its been a while since I posted on the forum.

I've just purchased a pair of beolab 6000s and was demo's them in line in mode - all OK.

I get them home plug in my powerlink cables and switch them to L & R, one speaker works fine, the other hums when in line in mode with a green light and when I switch to powerlink the light goes red!

How much trouble am I in here?

Thanks

Gary

Did you check to set the switch correctly to L for the left and R for the right speaker?

Try to swap the speakers to see if the problem is related to the speaker or to the cables.

Hi there... thanks for the suggestions!

Have done all of that, changed L to R and swapped powerlink cables, same issue!

Anyone else?

Thanks

same issue with the same speaker, or same issue with the same speaker position but different speaker ?

Same issue, same speaker, it's definitely the speaker that's the problem...

If you are confident enough to open it up, you could look at the connectors for the power link as there may be a loose connection, therefore not giving any signal to the speaker.

not quite :-S

one is working so only 225 at risk, but why not see what a repair would cost ?

I understand / appreciate that does not lessen the frustration

I once bought for $150 an MX and a 1000 remote control - the MX lasted 3 hours before *phhht*

The mistake I made was to get B*O to quote on repairing it

(I know, this goes against my previous recommendation)

and that cost me $100 to find out that it was not repairable

(I donated the MX to the dealer for their museum)

but I console myself that I got the remote for only $150
