I have been given two books on cutting edge apartment design, first published in 2008/9. The books are full of interior photographs.

Very few television or hi-fi systems are on view anywhere, but of those that are shown the vast majority are by B&O. One product in particular stood out. Anyone like to make a guess?

The Ouverture?

There is an Ouverture, but only one.

I've just found a book sampler here online.

Of the product I'm referring to just one appears in the sampler pages....... if you go to pages 114-115 you will see it.

There are four in this book, and one in the second. All at the same height on the same stand. This particular picture is probably the worst because the cables have not been routed through the stand. It's probably the most lived-in looking apartment in the book...... the rest look like film screen sets designed to look at but not touch!

It's the Beocenter 1/ Beovision 1 on medium floor stands.

The clue was in the date of publication of the books, just coming up to the end of the CRT era.

My guess would be that a current version of the books would have the BV10 or BV11 having pride of place. Televisions like no other television and with a real design quality. Just like the BV1/BC1 in its day.
