B&O make such iconic designs that several specialist resellers like Lifestyle are able to exist selling nothing but pre-owned B&O products.

I don't think that any other brand is re-sold by specialists in this way.

Does anyone know of other AV brands re-sold by single brand specialists?

a really interesting question Graham, I work in the niche segment of the car world where this is common place and have thought about this many a time.

to me this is sends out a very strong brand message and I'm surprised other HiFi manufactures have not ventured down this avenue. My only concern is what the future holds as technology is moving faster than ever and firmware/hardware can become unsupported quickly.

Hi Graham,

That is a very interesting question!  I've not come across another AV brand which can support a reseller market in the same way that B&O can, although there are some others which have a similar reseller base.  One example is the British hi-fi brand Quad, whose early products are now becoming very popular in Japan and the far East.  We supply bespoke cables to several UK-based companies who refurbish and upgrade Quad amplifiers and speakers for resale overseas, although they all operate on a fairly small scale.

Other "classic" British audio brands have "specialists" who trade in used products alongside the new range in their showroom (particularly with Naim and Meridian), although none of the companies who I build cables for could exist by selling just one of these brands exclusively.

So, I suppose the short answer to your question would be "No"! Wink Maybe this is yet another way in which B&O is unique.......

Kind regards, Steve

Steve.

what is interesting about Quad is they still offer factory service and maintenance for their products which spans over 50 years..... I wished B&O did the same as this would strengthen the market place.
