Have a playmaker hooked up to BS9's. It only takes a couple seconds from pausing a song or video before the speakers go on standby and back to on. This gets annoying when there is a slight 'pop' everytime.

Any solution to this?

I'm not aware that this is controllable.  When there is no carrier signal to the Playmaker, it goes to 'standby' hence the speakers going off.

Dave.

Which of the sources of the Playmaker is behaving this way?

Which cables do you use for connecting the speakers?

I use: Airplay->Playmaker->beolab 9 via powerlink cables.

It's like i have to hurry up to choose a next song, because the speakers go to standby very quickly. It's like my macbook: The display goes to sleep after 30 seconds if there is no mouse movement. With the speakers, they go to sleep after 2 seconds.

With my current usage 'behavior', my speakers go on-off at least 10-15 times during the day. Don't know how healthy this is for the built-in amps?

Anyone else think this is a problem, or is it just me?

The cases where i have this problem:

- Changing songs, where the next song has to buffer

- Changing from iTunes to Quicktime for video playback.i.e switching applications

- Network issues, where audio is lagging/buffering/

- Taking a brief pause in the music

Sorry to ask, but....

....are you using fully wired PL cables?

And, are the speakers set to Left respectively Right - and not to Line?

I know that this might be an uncommon use case, but this illustrates the frustration i'm having with my playmaker setup:

Using a Macbook to play a dvd, and setting sound to airplay through playmaker, my beolabs turn on/off 4 times before the movie starts:

- First 'on' because i selected airplay. Then 'off' after copyright clip

- Then 'on' when during Eagle Vision company logo clip. Then 'off' after that clip.

- Then 'on' when dvd menu starts. Then 'off' when i click play.

- Then 'on' when movie starts.

This is really annoying me. My beolabs go on/off 20-30 times during a day with varied use cases. How does this affect the speaker?

Personally, i think it would be cleaner to have a timer setup, so that playmaker sends a standby signal 10-15 seconds after no sound.

Am i the only one with this issue?
