Hi,

After far too long i've given up trying to link my MacMini to a link TV. While i've got it to work the picture is far too sub standard.

So i've purchased a second MacMini for the BC6.

But i've just tested it with an old laptop, the picture is perfect but the there is no sound.! The picture is via the DVI and the sound is connected to the phono L/R. There seems to be a volume in the on screen menu but that makes no odds and the volume on the Beo4 does nothing.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Andrew.

That's an unusual fault - have you tested the laptop's audio output with headphones at the same time that the DVI is connected?  Could the laptop be muted (or faulty) ?

Also - have you connected to the correct phono sockets next to the DVI socket in the back panel - not the quick access 'camera' sockets on the top left?

I'm getting used to 'unusual' issues with my setup.!!

I've not connected headphones to the laptop, but I did connect my iPhone to the the phono, and still nothing. The sound works fine when connected to the 'camera' socket.

Yes connected to phono beside the DVI. I also have component connections below the phono if that makes any difference.

Sorry - I have run out of ideas.  Could be a fault with the TV - I have not heard of such a problem before but perhaps a simple disconnected cable inside.

Hi, from what i've managed to work out it 'may' be something to do with it being a Mk1. I'll put it onto eBay as i've just sourced a Mk2. It arrived today and from a Mac point of view is perfect. Sound, picture and Beo4 remote working a treat. It does seem to have it's own issue, in that it's giving off a high pitch hum.!

Hay ho...
