Hi,
At the weekend l tried out the A3 with my new iPad at my B&O dealer but we could not get it too work has anyone tried out this combination yet?
I have searched the Internet for answers but keep getting conflicting information which does not help, but when you check the official B&O web site it informs the A3 can be used with iPad 1&2 but does not mention iPad 3 which seems strange and very disappointing.
Can anyone help with this mystery .

My dealer in SoHo told me they'll have an adapter (bumper) for iPad 3 in around a week.
So it's not only limited to one platform(soon to change its charging port making this soon to be out of date) but also an older mark of that platform!! Why they couldn't have simply made a Coke can size of travel speaker with a 3.5mm attachment is beyond me. I'm all for B&O making things that are of the time and wether you like it or not Apple products are, but this looks way to bulky and actually costs more than the device your attaching it too!

When we were in Struer last week the A3 was demonstrated with an iPad 3. The adapter highlighted is only to deal with the small difference in size between the iPad models.

Typed on my new iPad, docked in a A3 no problem at all.
Its sitting on my knee playing really decent sounding music while I browse and work. I'm surprised there hasn't been more comment about them on here. It's the first B&O product ever where my wife wants one as well for using in the kitchen and garden

Well, it can't be a software (iOS) issue as the iPad 2 can be updated to the very latest iOS release (along with the iPad 3). They share the same software.

It's because the iPad 3 is just a hair thicker than the iPad 2. The new gaskets for the iPad 3 should be available any day now. If you stretch the opening of the iPad 2 gasket just a bit it will work. Also if you push real hard on the release switch on the back and it goes all the way in it will work. Been using ours with an iPad 3 for about a week now.

I is agonising as you can tell. don t tell me that please..??? i m doomed.. borned under the wrong star, cursed for all eternity.. i ve been promoting the A3 to a very dear friend of mine who owe an ipad 3... I ve been so convincing that he is supposed to go and buy his A3 today... RHAAAA. I m a dead man.... .I better go to work with a helmet and an armor tomorrow.. if i can t get hold of him before he buys it.. he will kill me..
what is the issue between the A3 and ipad 3 please ??? is it some sort of a temp bug, or something more serious than that ??? sorry.. i know it s all been explained on previous post... but 1.. i m not fully awake yet, and 2ndo i was blonde as a child.. and 3rd.. i m French.. so what do you expect ??? miracles .. a sudden burst of amazing intelligence ???

Have you downloaded the set up app to your iPad? If you simp,ly dock your iPad without the set up App the doack will not work.
We have an iPad3 and it works perfectly.

There are 3 reasons why l started this thread, having decided to buy the A3 for my iPad 3 l went onto the new B&O Play Web site for the latest information and surprise surprise iPad 1&2 are mentioned but not iPad 3.
After that l spent time searching the Internet for information and came across several sites including www.t3.com/reviews/b-and-o-beoplay-a3-review and www.stuff.tv/news/ Just to name two of them.
At the weekend l visited my B&O dealer who tried to get the A3 too work with my iPad 3 without any success and he has since spoken to B&O technical who have confirmed the iPad 3 should work with the A3 it is a possibility the switch was not made fully into the iPad.
