Hello everyone,
I am counting on the fact that this being a dedicated b&o forum, you guys and gals will have some dedicated answers form me.
I recently acquired a pair of beovox m100 speakers, and beogram 3000 turntable. The speaker cabinets are in ok shape, definitely worth saving in my books... The problem is that they are not fully operational. One of the woofers is dead, both filler midrange drivers are missing (the ones just above the woofers), and one of the supertweeters (the top one) sounds off. When I plugged them in I was very intrigued and pleased by their sound, even in their incomplete state. I would really like to hear a fully operational pair, so I looked around for some info, as to finding replacement drivers, or fixing existing ones, but there is very little out there.
Can you point me in a right direction here? Greatly appreciated! Thanks!
One of the woofers in mine stuck and I had it repaired. Well worth it. Better to get the drivers repaired than replace with new drivers unless you can get originals. This is the company I used.

I also had the capacitors in the cross over replaced, though Tim Jarman did that.
Thanks Peter! I read your previous posts about the m100 stuck (slipped?) magnet. What does it mean? How do I identify if my magnet is at fault?

If you press on the woofer ,normally you can move the diaphragm in and out. If the magnet slips, you cannot. However there are other reasons - I am no genius at fixing electronics, hence my use of professionals. Some of here can advise how to do things yourself.

Ok, I might have found someone stateside that will recone these. Another thing to check out I guess!
Does anyone have any info on the midrange filler driver? The one that is enclosed inside the speaker.
Part numbers, maker, picture of the back, specs, anything? I found a few 4.5" drivers but have no idea what to aim for...

Stateside I can recommend this place - The Speaker ShopI have only had to use them once but they repaired a twelve inch Yamaha woofer off an NS-690 speaker set. That woofer had a slipped magnet and was frozen. The repair was very professional and that speaker is still working well for me.
The Beovox M100 speakers are well worth repairing by the way. I got my first pair towards the end of last year and they are quickly becoming one of my favorites.

I think I would like them too, and I am all about fixing things rather than just chucking them, but that doesn't resolve my issue of missing midrange drivers. The information online is scant at best!
Someone out there must have taken them out at some point, and knows what they are!

I think it is a Peerless unit - part number is 8480125 but that is no help as they are not available now! I had to have mine refoamed and there was no suitable ring so the repairer had to cut and shut one he had. If I get a chance, I'll take one out and have a look at it!

Next in line is the Phillips tweeter. Since it was already separating, I took it apart to find busted voice coil. This one is giving me hard time too! No continuity reading, Wire in a coil seems to have rubbed off coating, as I was able to get a reading between that location and one pin.
You can see a wire separating, that is because I was trying to eliminate the short. Very tedious ordeal!
I have committed to restoring those speakers!
I have the woofer sent out for inspection and repair. Acquired a pair of phase link midranges (too large since they are from m70 but hopefully will work), but I don't know what to do about the tweeters! One working, one with busted voice coil.
I am on ebay every day searching for them, and nothing. But what about suitable replacement pairs? Does anyone have a suggestion, some tweeter characteristics to go by by searching for replacements?

I think I have the tweeter - not sure if it works though - It is missing the red wire but was sent to me by a friend so I imagine it works. Happy to send it to you if you have one working one. I don't think the part number of the phase link is helpful though.

About phase links, yeah, the number itself not very useful. The resistance of the driver would be helpful though to find a closer match.
Once I gather all of the components again, I will still try the m70 phase links, and if they work well, I will just port my boxes to make them fit.
I am gonna wait with woodworking and cosmetics till I sort out the sound and electronics though.

I would be very surprised (positively) if a suitable substitute has finally been made available for this incredibly hard to match driver.And at a most resonable cost too.The closest one I ever found was in the EUR 100-120 range - and it was really not THAT close.But ... Allow me to ask; Have you compared the T/S parameters against the original at all since you call this "The Best Solution" ?

Just a quick update, and thank you for those who chimed in and followed.
I found a semi-local repair shop that is dealing with my shifted magnets (LINK). While agonizing over missed opportunity to acquire partout components (pricing was just high, and the seller hard to reach), I almost accidentally scored the complete guts from another source, including tweeters, and phaselinks!!! Of course one of the woofers has a detached magnet, phaselinks need refoaming, but I now have the complete set, and a few spares! I also have the opportunity to grab another pair of woofers ( one OK, one with shifted magnet, naturally!). So they are out there, people!!!
I am still looking for the opportunity to meet the seller to grab cabintes from him as well, but the drive is hard to justify.
Sometime in early August I will be able to put them together, and they better be worth it!
Once I start re-assembly I will take some pictures.

By the way, the Celestion tweeters (not Philips Sir) can be repaired: new diaphragms are available here in France!

For a while there was an excess of m100 parts! How random! I am finally putting them together. I went way overboard with rewiring the crossover, using small diameter shielded coax. I was curious if it will make a difference. Dunno yet.
I am wondering if anyone has a picture of the interior. I am not sure how the foam pieces fit.
Definitely see the need for stands and tilting of the speaker, bass stays really low to the ground.
It might be a tough call b/w my JBL L88 and Beovox M100. WIll see.
