Based on the fact that I just pulled the trigger on a BV-11, apparently I don't agree either, though I have to be honest and say that I'm slightly concerned.
Edit: the link error in this original post has been removed.
???
what's a remote control got to do with Beophile's stupid alarmist comments?

I absolutely don't agree with the comment on Beophile.
And @Sal : Eh - what's the point in posting that link..? A remote control for sale? I hope it's a mistake. Then please provide us the 'real' link... " />
sorry, that link was a boneheaded mistake. Will correct when I get home. Can'tedit it right now.
I was trying to figure out the metaphor. But seriously, that's a very unusual thing for the editor of a 'fan' site to say.
I agree. While no one respects a site that, say, ignores the bad side of things completely, this seems an awful lot like kicking someone when they're down. Not what I'd do to a company I allegedly like.
B&O will hopefully find someone to buy them similar to what happened with McIntosh. First Clarion, then a investment group that owns a lot of audio/video, have owned McIntosh. Unlike some Asian raiders who slap the name on terrible junk, they have continued to let McIntosh be McIntosh, same overbuilt gear, same big blue meters and such, just enough money to expand the product line and keep it fresh. With any luck B&O will find the same.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
It can't come as a surprice:
I definitely don't agree either - it is pure nonsense.
B&O is struggling, but not dying.
We should do, what we can to keep the wheels turning - and buy whatever we planned, NOW!

Well said MM!
Well it's one paragraph in the middle of some generally good commentary, including the later postings.
Let's face it, retailers are giving longer guarantees now they know that modern electronics are becoming more reliable. At the same time there must be a good chance that ANY manufacturer will go bust or get taken over during an extended 3 or 5 year guarantee period. The same applies to the retailer.
I never worry about guarantees or companies going under. I buy what I like and can afford after looking at the manufacturer's historical reliability as recorded at places like Beoworld.
