Yes Moxxie did! He owned both the BL3 which he loved. I remember him buying the BL18 and he was bowled over. I remember Moxxie loving the BL18 and he'd owned much of the range! I remember he loving the sweet treble.
Agree with BillC, that the BL18s certainly gives a much fuller sound. Tried both over longer periods in a 8m x 11m x 3m room (kitchen with wooden floors). For pop/rock the BL3 sounded more "restricted/contained" in the mids and low-end compared to the BL18. Have tried adding a BL11 to the BL3s and it certainly gave extra depth - but in my room the BL3+BL11 combination couldn't quite beat the BL18s. I would say, though, that the BL3's highs (treble) are fantastic - voices are clear and very "present" - so for some music, the BL3 hold up very well against the BL18s. In my ears, the BL18s are actually brighter than the BL3s. In rare cases, I find the BL18s sound perhaps a bit too bright (slightly "metallic"). I experience this most often when streaming radio stations from an essence w/transmitter 1 - so it is very likely the speakers are not to blame. But in any case, it is small nuances and certainly nothing that kept me from ultimately choosing the BL18s. Still have the BL3s and try them in the same room on occasion. So far, BL18s have not been even close to losing their spot. If you really like deep bass - you may want to consider the BL20s ;-)
