good evening
I am trying to connect an "old" system, based on passive speakers installed in different rooms, to a BEOSOUND 3200; the speakers where previously connected to a BEOCENTER 9500 via a MCL link.
I am now trying to connect a BEOSOUND 3200 (with a masterlink interface) to this MCL link , via a ML/MCL converter I have bought especially (ebay) for(but I didn't receive any technical book).
I switched everything together, put power on (light remains red), but ...this doesn't work : connections and cables look all right but the command via BeO4 remote control doesn't do anything !
Questions :
How to check the ML/MCL converter is functionnal?
What are the operations to do, is there a software parameter to enter? How, via BeO4?
Above all : is there a technical notice/book which explains the way to operate? How to find it (I found a lot of documentation about the different BeO links installation but nothing really adapted)
thank you !
Hi,
first of all - you must use the ML/MCL Converter as an amp for your MCL installation.
It seems, that you have used the ML to connect the 3200 and the Converter.
In order to use it as an amp, you will have to use a (fully wired) PowerLink cable between the 3200 and the amp (the converter) - nothing more!
On the converter you must connect the MCL cables (the 4 pin speaker cables) to the output on the amp/converter.
The MCL cable (the other end) must be mounted in the MCL-box together with the ir-cable from the ir-eye.
You can daisychain several MCL-box'es - just by adding the next MCL cable to the first one in the box....
Hope that helps. Feel free to ask again, if you need.
