My neighbour has a wall mounted 3500 CD player.  The display panel to which has fallen off - not broken fortuneatly.  There were some black adhesive pads behind the panel.

So the question is what's the best way of sticking it back on:

do I need to remove the existing black adhesive first?

can I use double backed adesive tape (recommendations would be helpful)?

I'm guessing that there should not be too much (or any) gap between the display panel and the sensor buttons behind it?

Your comments would be much appreciated.

Kind regards

Pete

Hi Pete and welcome to Beoworld.

Lucky break that it didn't break!  The old adhesive can be carefully removed and then you can use a tape such as this one from QDA specifically for this Beogram 3500:

Instructions come with it.

Best of luck,

Dave.

I would suggest that he also does it for the Beomaster and the Beocord.

These glass panels are available from B&O anymore.

Hi

What I did was remove the old sticky tape with cleaning fluids, both the glass itself (NEVER SCRAPE IT OFF THE GLASS WITH ANYTHING SHARP, YOU WILL SCRATCH THE GLASS!!), you might get away with rubbing it with your fingers under warm water.

When both the glass itself, and the 2 holders are very very clean and has none of the old tape still attached, then use som strong glue(some say 2-component, but I found that this works for me..

Just be very carefull when applying it, use a very very thin line, and I mean thin !! at the middle of the plastic holders. The glue will be pushed up along the side of the glass if you use too much, and is very hard to make nice again..

After attaching the plastik holders, I use these along the plastik all the way around, especially where the fasteners for the print is..

The rubber sensors underneeth will touch the glasspanel when it is attached correct..
