Well done if you're happy with the purchase! Smile

In fairness, the seller has stated the cassette deck doesn't work - and the CD mechanism is on the way out (or gone), plus the glass panels are loose - and the speakers aren't too good cosmetically...

If you're into fixing up though this is a fair price..

It was an honest listing plus the ownership can be traced. Wont know how messed up it is electronically or mechanically until it arrives. I am hedging it needs a good cleaning inside/out and some of the problems will be solved. Reading the tea leaves - lack of use may have been partly responsible much  of its problems now. At the least it will make a mighty impressive looking MP3 player.

I could have done without the speakers entirely but it was part of the package.

Now days most of these older BC 9000 sets have issues of some sort identified in the listing. I would be more skeptical someone claiming they picked it up at an estate and it worked perfectly.

I think it is a very good price despite those defects, sometimes the speakers alone could go for that!

The bonus of having the manuals etc. is always good too. It is something I always ask sellers when I buy something on eBay, you never know what they might find!

Arrived yesterday and so I ran some basic test today. The amp works I had to fiddle with the muting to get the right channel on speakers 1 to work but now it does. No problems on speakers 2. Radio works, Aux and tape 2 ok, phono works. Built in cassette does not play, CD door does not open,

Programming functions appear to all be OK.. Nothing seems to be seriously broken. I will look mow into it this weekend.

The remote battery housing was not all corroded for a change.

Initial test complete. Now back to my favorite BM2400 paired to S-75

I can slither with the best of them Soren Yes - thumbs up

If I remember correctly I picked up my 4000 and a CD3300 during the big gae in years past - all on the cheap.

It is an annual ritual.

The 9000 is basically a chick amp in my book ( I have one already ). Very elegant and offers a lot of versatility with the extra inputs. But the the 5000 system is still way better.
