Probably a newbie question, but here goes.

I'v got a NAS with music, and speakers connected to a Playmaker. Why can i not just use the BeoMusic app to access my music and play through to the Playmaker?

Why do i need the extra Essence, Moment, etc hardware?

Because it is a dedicated app/controller for this hardware - it is not a universal (DLNA) app.

Hi,

a nice working app for DLNA controlling is Kinsky from LINN (http://www.linn.co.uk/software,  and more info here).

It's free and works fine with the playmaker. The design is not B&O but LINN, which is not so nice but quite decent.

You can also get Kinsky for your PC / MAC / iPod/Pad  so it gives one interface on all platforms

Speaking of DLNA apps:

Personally I prefer the 8Player.

The Kinsky app is......well - too Kinsky!
