About a half hour ago I signed on the line for a beautiful pair of BeoLab 18s in oak (may change to walnut later) and a BeoSound Essence.

I already have a BV11-46 and BL14s. The 18s are going in my living/dining room, while the TV and 14s will remain in my entertainment room. I plan to use the BeoSound Essence to get music into the 18s.

There are so many aficianados on this site, and I was somewhat impulsive with this purchase, so I am looking for reasons why this is one of the best purchases I have ever made. Please share your positive thoughts! Thank you. :-)

Well, I think you did good! The BL18s are a striking speaker, sonically and especially visually. I have BL8000s, their predecessors in my dining area (which is the dining room, kitchen, and a sun room open plan), and they look and sound stunning. And the Essence has some great capability, the wall controller is just so elegant. Plus with the wireless you won't have the same issues I have had running wires, just get the speakers close to a wall outlet and you have a lot more placement flexibility than I do.

I think the BL18s are a much better speaker for music than the BL14, by far. The BL14 is great for a TV setup and casual music, but the BL18s are truly another class as far as music reproduction.

Enjoy! Sometimes your subconsciousBig Smile knows more than you do and drives your impulse purchases in the right direction!

By the way, about longevity I've had my BL8000s since 1997, and am as happy with them now as I was then. I think that says something about how well B&O can give you long term satisfaction.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

Congratulations on your purchase! Enjoy B&O's latest iconic design.

Allow me to become an enabler, and ask you to be a bit more impulsive, seek out a second hand Beolab 8000 or 8002's, so you have little brother and big brother in your home.
