At the new B&O Mayfair store opening, according to the Retail Gazette,

Tue made the following statement:

".......He points at a Beovision TV, “If you buy this product, it will last you 25 years. If you were to see a problem within 25 years, bring it to us and we will give you money. Tell me another technology company that will do this?

There is exclusivity here with Bang & Olufsen,” concludes Mantoni. “These products aren’t mass produced and a lot of people who have been in the company have been with us for 30 to 40 years.”

I wonder what he really did say?

Never trust in a short quote from a journalist!

MM

There is a tv - and there is a BV

And even if he did say it, unless it's printed on your terms and conditions, good luck going back in 20 years for some money back!

In reality, he was just stating how confident he is in the product quality.  Let's just hope there aren't any 'nightshift' TV's floating about!

Dave.

I Wonder how many working in the assembly lines today, have been there for 30-40 years...

As most of B&O today is manufactured in Czech, I Wonder how many Danish workers that have moved down there... Hmm <img src=" />

"We'll give you Money" (for your old tv) hmmm - I doubt if many B&O shops will take in a 25 year old defect tv...
They sure won't repair one Big Smile <img src=" />

It makes more sense if it's adjusted to "2-5 tear old" TV

In Europe, official warranties are 2 years + 1 year given freely by Bang & Olufsen.

It happens during commercial sale that you can have 5 years warranty from B&O for a complete Audio/Video system.

I doubt that tv screens  (made in china)  from nowadays are built for 25 years !!!

Really strange to announce 25 years lifetime for a TV or you will get money back !!! Confused

My guess is that Tue thought he was talking to a private individual and he was just giving an over-the-top boast.

However, if anyone has trouble with their just out-of-guarantee television, it might be useful to refer B&O to the article, especially if Tue makes no further comment correcting  it.

Indeed.

However, goes to show one can be quoted on everything.

If he said that, it was a silly remark from him. He can't truly believe a current Beovision would highly likely last 25 years.

Too long to list....
