Just got a new Avant yesterday. So far not really impressed with its integration of other B&O products in the house. The television works beautifully with the Beolab 9's which are to the side of the Avant. The installer was somewhat baffled yesterday and has promised to return and make the system work. He could not get the two active kits that have been in the house for two years with Beolab 12-2 and Beloab 8000's and linked Beolab 2 subwoofer to play the same source as the Avant via the Beoremote 1. He has installed a NL/ML B&O convertor, of course. Also we are wondering if we will ever be able to get the Beosound 9000 with radio and CD player to play via the Beoremote 1. Any thoughts or suggestions would be most appreciated as they have been in the past.

Thank you,

Checkler

The remote can be configured to control older ML equipment, but it's not the most ideal. I would have them separate and not worry about one remote with new and old. Everything else should work as it should provided your installer knows what he is doing..... Including syncing both NL and ML audio.

Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there

Congratulations on receiving a great product. I am sure the installer will do a good job. These installations and subsequent integration seem to take a minimum of two days

Thanks to all for the answers to my questions regarding the Avant and its integration with older B&O products (Beosound 9000). Now I am informed that in order to play the CD and regular FM radio of the 9000 throughout the house without a delayed signal or reverberation via Beolink that I will need a delay box. Hope that this device is not too costly once purchased from B&O and installed. Would anyone happen to know when Deezer will be available for the Avant? The fact that Spotify will only play in the main room and not in adjoining rooms with Beolink is really disappointing. To my understanding, this will not be the case with Deezer.

Hi,

Deezer is already abailable on the Avant, I've been using it since install 6 weeks back.

I wonder if it's a regional thing, what country are you in?

Thanks, David. I am in the USA, and according to the B&O stores here it is not yet available for the Avant, and they have no idea when it will be.

Interesting.  Can you access Deezer through other devices?  Is it available in the US at all?

I'm sure this must be a Deezer issue rather than B&O, as the Avant has the app available if the service is.

When it does become available, I'm certain you'll like it, I now don't use spotify as I think Deezer is (slightly) better.

Yes, one can access Deezer through other devices in the US, but not yet through the Avant. According to a B&O representative I talked with recently, B&O of North America wants to be absolutely certain of its integration with the Avant system before giving access to subscribers.

Hey Checkler,

Did you get your issues resolved? I'm most likely able to assist - PM me if you need help.

The delay box is $236 (part no 8052438) and the power supply for it is $89 (part no 8040008)

The delay box is needed to synchronize the sound playing on local speakers connected to you BS9000 or active/passive kits and the BL9s on your Avant. Only relevant if the sound is "bleeding" into each others rooms/areas and you hear an echo.

The reason is ML is analogue and has no delay, the Avant is digital and takes a few MS to process and the sound is delayed.

BeoVision 11-55, BeoCenter 2, BeoLab 9s, BeoLab 3s, Beo4/5/6, BeoRemote One, BLGW, Transmitter 1, BeoLit 12, A8, H6, H8

Thank you so much, but the issue was resolved about two weeks ago with a delay box. All works well now throughout the house!

Most appreciated for your offer,

Checkler
