beocord 4500 door controls

Hello Beoworld,

I have purchased a beosystem 4500 (beomaster, cord and gram).  in the interest of updating this system to integrate with current technology, I had a thought to effectively disable the beocord system, and install a Bluetooth hub and a dac so that I can wirelessly stream music to the system.

I guess my question is first off dose this make sense / any reason not to - other than disabling a good unit.

and secondly, in removing the internal boards and components what must I leave in place to maintain the lift door operation ? are there feed back loops that must be maintained to preserve the beocord operation ?
