Hello everybody
I just bought a Beomaster 4500 and it is playing with the passive Beovox CX100.
I found these soundcontrolling buttons, (they are in all B&O amplifiers as I know), Bass, Treble, Balance and Loudn (Loudness).
My question is, what does the Loudn button do? The music sounds a lot better when i turn it up.
Loudness is either on or off and essentially helps compensate for us older people with more limited hearing ranges. It's ultimate effect is to add a bit more bass. I use it all of the time but others don't. It's very much down to the individual user and if it sounds better to you in the environment and set-up you have, continue to use it.
To get the most from your BM4500, invest in some better speakers such as the BL4500's for example. It makes a world of difference over passive speakers.
Dave.

I re-open this topic to ask a question about BM4500 and speakers connection:
Is it possible for the BM4500 to control Beovox speakers AND Beolab speakers at the same time ? More precisely, is it possible to have it running a pair of Beovox CX50 and a Beolab 19 subwoofer ?

oli:Hi Lawrence, Thanks for your answer. Great to know that it is feasible, I know that I will need some work to find the good setting, but unlike the BL11 and BL2 the BL19 offers great capabilities for many ajustements regarding Gain, Phase and so on. And the main purpose of this is for my home office, so I don’t expect reproducing the very high level quality of sound I have in the living room.
