I am totally off my socks, just got this message from Sonavor (John)

Hi Søren,

Your package from Mexico finally arrived in Aledo, Texas today.  It took a month to get here.
When I opened the envelope, it was empty!!!  So somewhere in the mail process, someone opened the package up and took the contents.  Unbelievable.  No one would even know what the grill pegs were for.  The package clearly says they are grill pegs for speakers with no commercial value, yet someone still opened the package and took the contents.

I really appreciate the effort you took in this and I am sorry those efforts were wasted.  I am so unhappy with the US mail system right now.  Actually, I have been unhappy with them since they took so long mailing my cartridges to Axel.

Thanks for your help,
John

Here a pic of the pegs,

4 hours in my workshop wasted,it was the first time I made these. After I made some for my M70s I can get it down to 2 hours, Because of John always being helpful and posting very interesting and detailed threads on the forum, I wanted to do something for him. This will take several cubas to get over it.

John say the word and I make another set, which I will ship from McAllen with shipper of your choice.

Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.

It seems particularly ironic that the Mexicans can get thousands of tons of drugs and countless illegal immigrants across the border but the mail can't get a set of aluminum pegs delivered in a month.

Wonder if the cartels would add it to a load for a nominal fee?

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

The worst part is knowing the work Søren put in and his generosity being tossed aside by some un-caring person in the mail system. That is what I am most bummed out about.  It is extremely unnerving that the mail system is this bad.

Thanks again for the offer Søren.

What a bummer!

Unfortunately it's happened to me twice in the past when I've been sent things.  I'm not saying this is the case here as I'm sure they were packed well, but, envelopes usually go through a roller type sorting system in transit, if items are loose, or can move in the envelope, they can be squeezed towards one end and burst out of the end - this happened to me with plant seeds and the supporting screws for a BS9000.

I doubt anyone has actually deliberately opened this envelope and taken the pegs as it was clearly labelled as to what they were and would be of no value to anyone else but a B&O collector/restorer.

Never send loose items in envelopes for this reason.  A bit of bubble wrap to keep them all together is by far better.  Unfortunately in my case, the shippers couldn't be bothered and just sent them loose.

I hope the new ones get there quicker and more safely.  Don't think of the time as wasted Soren, merely as practice and perfecting the technique.  They do look good.

Dave.
