I get that on and off and utilise the paperclip only method at the moment. I had to do it twice last week after the update, but since then so far so good Whistle

Really recommend a factory reset after the latest upgrade.

It rebuilt my 3000 songs library in a jiffy.

Out of curiosity. Does a factory reset mean the moment forgets your preference eg pattern play?

Yes.

It has to learn your pattern again

17 days past the swap of my Jukebox tablet. You remember it got stuck on the B&O logo in doing a reset after receiving a SW update, so B&O decided to swap my Jukebox tablet.

The Moment is now working with the new tablet as it should, its singing as supposed.

Only for that one miserable fault:

Still no possibility to reach the Beoportal servers to check if their is a update.

Every time I push the button to check for an update, It keeps giving me that message: "Software update failed. try again…"

And off course in the about menu the message keeps appearing everyday around 5am: "(date, hour) Not possible to connect to beoportal."

Contacted the dealer, but still no news. And when checking if Beoportal is connected in the Moment’s menu beneath the button ‘About’, it shows me clearly the OK checkmark on the Beoportal connection line.

Another strange thing; Checking the Jukebox data in the ‘About’ menu, it shows the latest software version but there is no serial and no hardware numbered version to find, it just shows 0000000 on both lines.

Any thoughts?

I am currently move back to Germany. My is on a container for  a cruise. Therefore my BS-Moment is missing the latest update. 

To your questions: some months after the release of the Moment, there was a major update and afterwards several Moments connected to the wrong Beo-Server. Thatswhy B&O sent every dealer a sheet of paper with a manual to fix this. I had this paper in my first Moment replacement and have it somewhere in my 40-feet container - sadly I can't remember the proceudre - but B&O should be able to help.

Regarding your second question - it is common for B&O to replace mainboards with a new one, without any serial - and hardware ID. They did that with my BeoVision 8 - ages ago. Therefore, I think,  your Jukebox-replacement is a refurbished version with a new mainboard inside. Maybe B&O stocks the complete Jukebox now as a "spare part". it is anoying but nothing serious. Your first problem, I agree, needs to be fixed.

Thanks for that information, I give the dealer a call this morning and ask him about it.

I'm not sure if he knows anything, its a new dealer and person who took over the old business. But I could give him a hint about this info.

I had the same "sheet of paper" when I got my Moment. I recall that being an instruction to do a factory reset as a first step of installation, in order for the BeoServer link to be updated and re-established.

@Chris: Have you done a factory reset after you got the new hardware?

I did get a reply pointing the problem to my router. Strangely I did not change anything about the network or DNS servers.

The old tablet worked well for updates and this new one told me immediate after install that it is not possible to reach the Beoserver for updates or sending logs, although its connected to Beoportal because the the checkmark appears to be on Beoportal in the menu.

Now Beocare wants me to connect thru a hotspot to try Crying

Hi Chris,

I have exactly the same issue since my jukebox has been exchanged. I also suspected my network and tried to connect to Beoportal through a tethered mobile connection via iPad - I haven't had success with that approach either.

Hi Chris, now I remember, you need to do the factoy reset over the buttons on the back, not in rhe settings. I hope you know what I mean. Just check the installation manual, there are different ways to do a factory reset. Cheers Beroli

Somewhere next week the dealers technician pays me a visit under guaranty conditions.

He will use the service tool to fill in serial and version numbers. I report later.

do you know whivh software version is the latest?

My dealer loaded 2.0.47.2713.20.438.206012336 in my moment, I was told it was a Beta, but seaching for updates it says that there is an update availble, but I don't want to downgrade, in case it is a lower version.

This new version has some improvements, even though I still have Network problems. It has a better seach, but I cannot find out how to fast forward within a song.

1.8 is the latest, so you must have a Beta one .... did you notice any other changes?

Usually double tap on the track being playe gives you the ability to fast forward

Taking the back cover OFF you battery charing stat i percent,  dnla status, and now i see version 2.0.49 available. Deezer Update as Well. 

 

I Can male screenshot tomorrow.

Yes there are

mprovements. 

Just came home and noticed that now the available version was 2.0.50, so i upgraded. 

First time it failed, so i had to hard reset the tablet, and secondat time it went through. 

Now i Can search radio in same search as album, artist and songs. 

Now i just hope for stability. I still Seem to have problem to turn it on after it has been turned og with the ir Remote.

Yes, same problem here if I turn off with the IR remote. Takes several taps to wake it up (why it´s no called the BeoSound Just-a-Moment) - and when it does wake up the display is messed up. Again. Sure, a pin-reset of the tablet sorts it out - but the rest of the household can´t be bothered - and stick their mobile device and a headphones. 

B&O should scrap the SW for the Moment and start all over again. Or offer some return policy for all Moment´s sold.

When you are using an BETA Software, than this might happen. 

My Moment runs perfect after the last updates, but I use Software 1.8

Is there a change in choosing a album when you habe more than one album of an artist. Now it is awful to swipe through the albums. For example I habe 30 Album of Johnny Cash and if I want to hear a special one it is not possible with the moment. I have to use the app.

You can search for the album name, and local and farvorites will come first.

I am just making a video and posting it on YouTube showing how it looks. As soon I have uploaded it I can post a link or how you can search for it.

Thank you very much for the video, looks like many missing features are there now, including the ability to remove Bluetooth paired devices that disappeared in 1.8 (and for which Beodontcare responded that it was not in their plan to have this option ...... great, not in their plan to have an option they had since the beginning :-) )

volvoxc, did you notice any change in the sound option of the configuration menu regarding the Line-In delay? I was told that the new release could offer the possibility to disable it, like in the A6

Havn't checked that, I only noticed that you still can adjust delay between wired and Wireless speakers. I don't use line in.

I still have had connection loss, and now found out that I allways used the wrong button trying to reconnect the "tablet", I need to check, as I think it is showed wrongly in the instruction on the Moment.

I just stopped in between two tunes.

Is the beta release restricted? Like some other Moment 'early adopters' on this forum, I'm getting a "no update available" message when I go to force a software update..

The beta is not even on radar of the B1´s, so I guess a release is not imminent.

I have sorted out some of the bugs from advice received here:

1) The grey screen after the last SW update was sorted out by a total reset and re-install. Actually had to do it 3x. But now that is sorted.

2) The unresponsive BeoSound Nonsense mkII and remote was due to a new AirPort installed in the next room. A total reset sorted out the interference, but a bit strange that this expensive kit can´t do this in a more dynamic way.

3) The issue of the BeoSound Just-a-Moment panel becoming unresponsive after a few songs still puzzles me. The click sound is heard when you hit "pause", but it will do nothing until you do the paperclip routine. Any tips?

I asked my dealer to get the BETA Software, but he never heard of a beta for the Moment. Maybe anybody of you has an idea, how to get the beta. I really like this search function.

I´m still on 1.8. After the paperclip reset to get the unresponsive panel up and running again everything was looking ok last night. This morning the panel was again unresponsive (both sides) and the grey screen was back. Hmfr.

As the last family member still using the Just-a-Moment I have now powered it down waiting for the release of the sw 2.0. It worked when I got it, then new sw releases have made it very difficult to live with. 

The first piece of kit I have bought from B&O that is close to useless.
