I've been thoroughly enjoying my dive back into B&O, and yesterday installed a trial version of TwonkyServer on my Mac Mini "Server" so that the HomeMedia source on the BV11 can access my media.
Everything worked like a charm, except for a few things, which I assume are expected:
Since I won't be using HomeMedia for movies or even photos, but mainly music, I was wondering if anyone else in these forums uses Twonky Server, and what your preferred Twonky Settings (interface, categories, etc) were. I'd like to continue to get the best experience possible, so I'd like to internalize experiences from folks here.
Tips, Tricks, thoughts are welcome. Thank you in advance!
PS. Twonky Server / HomeMedia is a helluva lot quicker than accessing music from my AppleTV.
Hmmmm.... I have experienced the complete different... I can acces all my music to apple tv very quick. Some of it to beovision 11 (but also with a limited covers showing) but none of it at my beosound moment (not so far)...

Every DLNA server software has it's issues.
Mandatory for the playback of music with any (DLNA) server is the tagging of the files - especially when it comes to displying cover pic's.
iTunes does not tag files the DLNA-way!!! You'll need workarounds for using iTunes-based files with DLNA devices (Twonky has a way to handle it...).
Personally I hardly use the BV-interface of the mediaplayer for accessing my music - you simply have to scroll too much (a search function based on at least the first characters would be appreciated).
I (mostly) use the 8Player app on my iPad (or the PlugPlayer). Pick your server, your music and the place (in this case: the BV) for playing the files - and you are good to go.
With the right settings on the BV you can even start the playback from standby - no need to push a button on the remote first.
I did not try the Twonky server (intensively) but several others a couple of years ago. The most important thing is: the proper tagging of your files!!!
N.B. I have no experience with 'playlists', as I am a dedicated 'album' listener.

For the past 18 months or so I've been using bliss which I've found to be really useful for organising my rather large (~1.5TByte) collection of music. Unlike most other tagging software, it's rule based - so you define a set of rules that you want your files to comply with, and it will flag up all those that do not confirm (and will attempt to correct many of those inconsistencies if you configure it to do so).
Well worth a look IMO if, like me , you have a music collection which is lacking in organisation, has many missing tags or cover art, etc...

Hi Sal. I am using the Twonky / Mac Mini as well (with a Beosound Moment but that should not really matter for album artwork).
In some cases the album artwork from albums stored in iTunes folders does not appear.
The easiest way around this is to create a "folder.jpg" with the album artwork in the album folder.
Note: the file has to be named "folder.jpg" for all folders; do not name the file the actual album title (so "revolver.jpg" will not work)
Album artwork can be found all over the internet; I got the best results with 300x300, 400x400 or 500x500 resolutions.
Alternatively you can embed album artwork in the files with a tag editor, but this in my experience does not always lead to satisfactory results.
