Hi all newbie here.

Hoping someone out there can help with a problem I have. Just purchased my Beomaster 7000 (upgrade from beomaster 5000) and beo4 remote but don`t have a clue how to tune in the radio. I have been told that I need to fool the remote into thinking I`m tuning in a video or something like that, can anyone help please? I`m pulling my hair out!!

many thanks in advance and looking forward to getting some replies

I'm sure a similar question was asked within the last few days or so by someone else.

I think you had to set the BM7000 to Option 2 possibly and then tune it via a 'video' setting but try searching the forum for a similar topic.  I tried earlier but couldn't find it.  'Joeyboygolf 'or 'Graham' slip into my mind for some reason in relation to it.

Dave.

EDIT:  Just found it:  http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/14002/122560.aspx#122560  Try this and it should be OK.

But my next question is how do I set the the BM7000 to `Option2` I have had this receiver for less than 24hrs and only had a few hours to look at it

On the BEO4, press the red dot and 'list' at the same time.  You should see 'ADD?' on the screen .  Press 'list' until you see 'OPTION?' then press 'GO' and use the 'list' button again to scroll through the A-OPT, V-OPT and L-OPT to get to what you want and then press '2'. 'A' is Audio, 'V 'is Video and 'L' is Link.

I don't know if you have to 'fool it' into thinking it's in Video by using the V-OPT or whether you need to set the A-OPT to 2 for radio tuning on the BM7000 as I've never done it.  Just try both and see what happens.  Do you have a B&O TV in the same room?

Dave.

As noted in the other thread quite strongly Big Smile , A.opt 2. The Beo4 always sends the TUNE command in video mode. Unless the Beomaster is in a.opt 2, it won't care a bit about that command. The other options are not relevant. If you don't have a Beovision, by all means leave the Beomaster in option 2 after you're done, as then you can use TV as well to activate the AUX input.

All in all, I'd rather drive all night to get an MCP or a Beolink 7000, but if you don't plan to reprogram the presets too often...

Another newbie here,

Not bothered about radio etc , but my BEO4 is really erratic and intermittent about when it wants to work with my beomaster 7000.  All I want is to control basic functions ,, ie switching from turntable to CD , volume, track numbers etcc.  Its not the batteries,, are there common faults/wear with the infra red transmitters on the beo4 or receivers on the BM7000?  Any ideas ?  Help folks

Hello 999jamie

The Beo4 is normaly very reliable and I haven't heard of a common fault at the Beomaster 7000 IR-Board. You could check for example with a digital camera if the Beo4 sends signals as the blinking of the IR-Diode is visible on an LCD display. Simply hold the Beo4 in fornt of the lens and push a button.

A wild guess: Do you have a plasma Screen near the Beomaster 7000? B&O uses an different IR-frequency than most brands an some plasma displays do emit a "plasma noise/radiation" (sorry, I don't know any better term) that can disturb/block the IR-Signal from the Remonte.

Hope this helps.

Hey. I have investigated the case. I have a beomaster 7000 close to a plasma TV. When beomaster 7000 sends to the beolink 7000 remote control. then it cannot receive the signal very often. When the TV is off, everything works perfectly I don't know what plasma television does. It's just like that.

Hi, I confirm that. My LG plasma also affects the working of Beo4 with BM7000. With my BeoLink5000 in 2-way it is even worse!
