Hi,

is the following setup possible:

- ML->RJ 45 cable ---> Ethernet cable ----> RJ 45 -> ML-cable.

I want to extend two ML->RJ45 cable with a network cable and an adapter like this:
http://www.conrad.de/ce/de/product/993563/RJ45-Netzwerk-Adapter-CAT-6-1x-RJ45-Buchse-1x-RJ45-Buchse-0-m-Metall?ref=searchDetail

Is that possible?

I would like to know before buying ;-)

Yes, you can do - you'll obviously need two of the adapters you linked to.

The network cable between the two adapters will need to be of the S/FTP type (either Cat 6, Cat 6a or Cat 7 but must be S/FTP)

S/FTP means that is there is overall braided shielding (the S) and each pair has a foil screen (the F) which is also known as PIMF (pairs in metal foil)

Hope this helps.

Martin.

When you mention "Ethernet Cable" do you refer to double shielded CAT 7 cable or CAT 5e?

You can not use CAT5e for masterlink cable, it's not shielded and also dosen't have enough conductors to do ML (minimum 9 wires needed)
