Hello all,

Picked up a few unloved items today from a house clearance one of which was a very grubby BG1100. Upon closer inspection i discovered it had a MMC20CL stylus and was feeling quite happy.

Upon even closer inspection Stick out tongue it appears that the cantilever and diamond has snapped off!

Is there any scope for getting it repaired and would it be cost effective, or is it just fit for the bin?

Thoughts appreciated!

If you're going to throw it in the bin - don't.  Send it to me and I'll get it repaired by Axel.  Whether it's cost effective is up to you and how much you are prepared to pay to get one of the best B&O cartridges repaired.  The MMC range can be repaired and made to any spec you like.  Just have a look at the site of Axel:

http://www.schallplattennadeln.de/B-O-MMC-Reparatur-Repair/REPARATUR-MMC-20/

You'll be hard pressed to find a functioning MMC20CL for less than 199 € so to my mind it's worth saving.  Axel's retipped cartridges are exceptional and will last for years.

Dave.

Thank you Dave & jimmybone.

Given your comments about the quality of the MMC20CL I will plan to get it repaired when I can afford to!
