Hi all,
I am new to this forum, I hope I am posting this question in the right section of it.
I have this Beomaster 2400 with some issues.
The bass and treble sliding pots are broken. They missed the small metal pieces linking the center with the sides, so I assume they can not be repaired. I don't have the schematics of the amplifier, do you know the specs of the posts in terms of how many kilohms they have and if they are log or lin?
Is there any way to replace these pots with something similar in the market? Is it possible to find the original ones at an affordable price? I live outside of europe or the us....
I am against placing external controls for this functions, that would be a terrible thing to do.
The other thing is that three lamps are burnt: bass, treble, balance. The others work fine.
Where can I find instructions on how to replace them? I opened the amplifier from the bottom and from the top according to the instructions of which screw to take out, but I couldn't reach the lamps. I didn't want to keep going further taking out morre screws from the boards, I can see everything is really tight. Maybe there is a way to remove the lower upper pannel and the lights will be right below with easy access, but I didn't find the way.
Thanks a lot in advance for your help!!!!
One of our fellow Beoworld members (Dillen) has them:

If you upgrade to silver or Gold you have access to the service manuals. The correct lamps (very important to get the correct ones) may also be available from 'Dillen'.
Dave.
Thanks Dave for the link.
I was really enthusiastic to know that there is some kind of spares to fix that, but unfortunately it says that you should have the small original contacts tu insert them on the spares you buy, and in mine they are gone I guess because they just fell out of the amplifier when transporting....

Are you sure they aren't in there somewhere just hiding? When vintage B&O is taken apart a bit, it's amazing what you can find loose inside these machines!
In the bass pot there is one inserted on it and I found another one just on the pot. That makes two.
In the treble both are gone... The thing is, the previous owner had the amp in storage and it was moved in a lot of directions. Also, I opened it and I didn't expect to find missing useful pieces so I was not careful to observe what was coming out of it :( A lot of rubber small parts from the missing stands came out, but I didn't notice any metal part among them.
Soon I will open it again and double check.
Do you know how to remove the upper pannel which gives access to the lights?

Best to look in the service manual as the description is be long-winded:
Top panel with cover: Remove the backplate by removing 4 screws (screws B in the service manual). Remove 2 screws near the hinges of the top lift-up panel (Screws C). Raise the rear edge of the panel. On reassembly, make sure all buttons are mounted and that tone control slides are in touch with the slide potentiometers.
Operating panel: Remove 6 screws from the underside of the BM2400 (screws D and E) and remove the operating panel. Take care not to damage the contact springs. On reassembly, ensure all contact springs are in contact with the springs on the contact board.
All taken from the service manual - available for silver and gold members in the products section.
I can surely find some parts, either complete potentiometers or discrete parts. The lamp kit contains detailed instructions for (dis-)assembly (photos and english text).
Please upgrade to at least silver membership level to place wanted ads.(This will also give you access to the service manual etc.)

If you buy lamp kit or parts from Martin, order at the same time a cap kit (also comes with instructions) before ordering check rectifiers and trimmers if needed
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
