Hi everyone
I need some help sourcing replacement rubber bass driver surrounds for my RL6000`s.
Does anyone know any UK supplier? I found 2 suppliers in the Netherlands but don`t have a clue about the cost conversion from £ to Euro`s or how to pay, communication with these guys is difficult to say the least.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance
Gordon
Gordon,
I assume one of the sellers you found are these people:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Repair-kit-for-Bang-Olufsen-Beolab-Beovox-6000-3500-THE-RIGHT-ONE-/360796147382
You can just pay via Paypal. 4 rubber surrounds for 19.49 GBP + shipping cost to the UK (just under 5 GBP).
I haven't used these so cannot attest to their quality/fit etc.
Dave.
hi Dave Tnx for the reply.
yes this is one of the sellers I have contacted, the add states the rings are 3.5" but I'm certain the rl6000's are 5". I did mention this to them but the reply wasn't exact and obviously I don't want to order the wrong rings., that's why I was asking about any UK supplier.
regards
Hi Gordon,
I haven't got the 6000's. I don't know if the overall speaker size is about 5" but the surround will be smaller. Maybe best to measure your old rubber and check. If you order them and they don't fit - send them back for a full refund + shipping as not fit for purpose andnot as described.
They have sold these RL6000 surrounds 12 times and had positive feedback about them so I'd assume they were correct.
I'm sure there is a speaker model confusion here. The quoted listing never mentions RL6000, but seems to be for Beolab 6000 & Beolab 3500 (and the mention of Beovox just an error).
The OP needs rings for Beovox RL6000 (BTW, why is that? I didn't know they were susceptible to ever needing repairs).
I have a pair of RL6000 here but it's not possible to see through the fabric. However, the woofer opening seems to be about 12 cm in diameter. I've had them open some time (as well as the very similar RL60.2) and 3.5" is definitely too small if it refers to the outside diameter.

Thanks for that Mika. I'm not sure why the rubber surrounds would need replacing either. Guess the OP needs to keep looking.
