Hello all! This is my first post as well as first Bang & Olufsen purchase! I am very excited to be receiving my speakers later today and am hoping that someone can provide some clarity on some of the questions I am having.

I am not very good with AV-related tech or understanding much in the way of connection types or how to set up systems, etc. It is just not one of my strong suits.

I am not going to be using this system at the present time with a Bang & Olufsen TV set - I hope to upgrade in the not-so-distant future. But for now, I am using my own television and from what my SA told me is that by going with the 4.1 setup and not using a B&O tv, I will have a ghost center for the present time.

My question is, how am I to connect the system to my television? I have spent hours on the different forums on beoworld, but I think I have only confused myself further. Are there different options for me in connecting the BL14 system to my non-B&O tv set? Thank you very much for your help.

The speakers come with the necessary cabling to connect to non B&O equipment and their manual is simple in how to connect it. Here's a link to the page with the manual: http://www.bang-olufsen.com/en/customer-service/product-support/loudspeakers/beolab-14

I suggest that you go to your dealer and say that you want a 5.1 system instead. That way you will get the extra center speaker for 100 euros.

Exactly - you won't be happy without some sort of external pre-pro/amp.
