Hello,

I've had this happily set up for years with no problem at all, then a couple of weeks ago, after yet another Beomedia 1 packed up, I set up an Apple TV.

While I was doing this I thought I'd sort out the rats maze of cables at the back of the tv - speakers, various powers etc etc etc. I unplugged everything, tidied up and then put it all back. Everything was fine except the IR extension between the tv and the V box. It just stopped working.

I had a spare that I tried with no luck and I bought another today from B&O, that doesn't work either.

I can't think of anything else that I can do to this and I can't think of anything that I might have done to break it.

Does anyone have any ideas about how to rectify it?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

David

Hi David,

You can test whether any IR is being emitted using a digital camera or camera phone - the IR light is invisible to the naked eye but will show up when viewed on the screen of a camera or camera phone.

Have you set up your Apple TV with a IR emitter controlled from the TV PUC too?

I've had issues in the past where when I have configured a new source / connection / PUC, one of the existing PUC connections has stopped working. Usually removing the connection within the menu (setting it to 'None') and then adding it back in again is enough to resolve this issue.

Give this a go for starters and let me know if it helps.

Martin.

Hi Martin,

I never knew that, thank you for the advice. I'll be trying that as soon as I get home.
