The employees will get double salary because B&O is selling more Moments than Apple his IPhones. Even the kids in Africa are so happy with their Moments.

I think there will be a special edition BeoSound moment with a wristband just like the Apple Watch Wink

Rumored big cuts at all local offices. Sounds like merger or acquisition culling.

STRUER

B & O employees awaiting the situation with [excitement] concern after the management yesterday at a public meeting announced organizational changes at the company.

Employees must however wait two weeks to find out how the changes will be implemented and what impact they will have for themselves.

It learns Dagbladet from sources at the company, which does not want to be quoted in the newspaper.

Comments on not on rumors

Dagbladet heard about upcoming changes through a few weeks, but B & O has repeatedly refused to relate to them.

"We do not comment on rumors," replied the sound from the B & O's communications director, Jan Helleskov.

It has not been possible to confirm the holding of large meeting yesterday by Jan Helleskov or employees' shop steward, Grethe crab. End quote.

The text under the article photograph refers to three factory closures.

That is what I call rumours!

I am patient enough to wait for an official announcement from the company.

It could be nothing more than a reorganization which happens frequently in many struggling businesses.

Apple acquires about 25 companies annually.  Except for Beats, most of these acquisitions are to obtain technologies and engineering talent.  Apple has no interest in B&O.

There was a reason why BEATS was acquired by Apple 1. For j. Iovine who has one of the strongest portfolios of contacts in the music industry spanning back to the 1970s to present day. 2. The launch a new Apple streaming service and 3. BEATS accounts for 57% of ALL headphones sales in the over £100 market internationally and have done for five years solid. Not bad! Apple wouldn't consider B&O as they already have a line of Bluetooth speakers and there isn't a huge market for 5k and very soon £40K speakers or £7K TVs - they can't even buy B&O for its designers as they don't have any - they are all freelancers.

It is a discussion board. We're here to discus. You may not agree with everything which is said here. But as long as no-one is being abusive that should be fine, no?

B&O cuts 125 employees, 70 of which is located in Denmark. It's primarily the AV-division.

The goal is to reduce the costs as B&O; despite an increase in sales; still struggles to make money.

Analysts point out that the management probably wouldn't have done this if a sale was imminent. This doesn't mean that B&O isn't for sale though. They are just prepping the company for a sale by making the production line and business organisation leaner.

There seems to be some news about 'the announcement'.

If you follow the link below, you will know that a cut-down in the AV division is coming soon.

Round about 150 people (68 of these in Struer) are going to loose their jobs.

This normally is called 'consolidation' and/or 'making the structures leaner'.

Seems to be the consequenses of declining sales - even if the revenue has gone up 18% in the last quarter.

B&O is preparing for a tough future - and is certainly willing to struggle!

No - what so ever - news on a sale of the company!!!

N.B. I wasn't able to find any official company announcement yet!

If you are still not making money on 20% growth on last year then you need to cut overheads.

We had 55.000 people worldwide laid off and I can tell you we actually operate leaner, more enterpreneurial and effective.

Sounds impossible, I know - however from that perspective I even imagine B&O can get positively reignited. So i am not reading it as a bad sign neccessarily.

I've said it before BUT, I think that Tue has done an amazingly great job for B&O - he's launched MORE products in the last four years than I can remember anyone doing. Huge mistake were made well before, who remembers that damn Samsung MP3 player with a B&O badge on? And phones that had a B&O logo AND a Samsung one - talk about devaluing your brand.

Tue had the guts to launch many new products - some good, some bad and some excellent - I guess, it's not his fault that not many people bought them. But that guy was certainly proactive! He had/has energy and drive and this has probably been the hardest point in his career. He should write a book in a few years time - that'll really be an interesting read!

I guess nobody would expect me writing anything against that!

I certainly agree with that too - and I am pretty sure, that there is more to come.

The problem, that people have with Tue and his current team, is - I guess - mostly, that they have launched products, that they aren't pleased with.

So we will probably never agree on that.

My hope is that the 'financial facts' in the next years will show, that Tue and his team was right.

I still love the older (ML) products, and have much of that stuff at home.

But the time was overdue for the new line of B&O Play and NL/Bang & Olufsen products - both categories are absolutely needed for future/new costumers.

Is the Moment THE flagship music system from B&O now? Will B&O release another music system, or update the Beosound 5 later this year? It would be nice to have a choice.

Remember when we could choose from the 4 Beosounds: 2000, 3200, 4000, 9000? I'd love to see just one more updated music system released.

I agree with that

Launched more lifeboats(products) but appears to be sinking the mothership.

Some of the early BeoPlay products harmed the brand SO badly.

The selling strategy is so chaotic, the distribution is all over the place.

Products being sold for nearly half price in bucket shops just over 18 months from launch.

Shop owners totally seem totally disheartened in the main when I talk to them.

... and a new music systems that Dosen't work properly and no multi room music system

this is just for starters

No no no he is not doing a good job not at ALL.
