hello from south Louisiana (U.S.) first time poster. So within the last several months I've been bitten by the vintage stero bug. I took ownership of my fathers Rotel R series 2000 rack system and have worked it back to shape. Recapped amp and preamp. I think it's 1984 bough. I work on oil & gas platforms in the Gulf of Mexico as a electronics technician. I run across a bunch of older than me (44) gentlemen out there. So I decided to start asking them if they had any older stereos. Well it was the 2nd gentleman I asked and he said he had his fathers old B&O system. After he gave me a brief description of the system and B&O history he said I could have the system if I wanted. I accepted and now I am the proud owner of a Beogram 5000, beogram CD 50, beocord 5000, Beomaster 5000 and the MCP 5000. He also gave me one of the Beovox S80.2 speakers until he can find the other speaker. I've already powered up the receiver, speaker and the MCP. From what I've tested it seems they are all ok. My plans are to use the receiver and two speakers in the master bedroom for things like mood music and such. I would like to perform and recap and general cleaning on the receiver and speakers. So is there a restore component kit for receiver and speakers? The serial numbers are beomasterr 50000 (2903004) & Beovox S80.2 (2984063). I need help in sourcing these kits. Thanks and ive been bitten by B&O

Welcome to Beoworld - Don, I presume.

Member 'Dillen' has recap kits for many vintage sets but I don't know if he has for the BM5000 series.  You could try to contact him by 'start a conversation' via your profile page or find a post of his and click on his name.  He may well read your post (as he's interested in the more vintage items) and reply anyway.

Dave.

Thanks Dave, I just ordered all components needed to recap receiver and speakers. Also a few other components suggested by Dillen.

Great Don.  Martin (Dillen) is an awesome and very helpful member here on Beoworld.  All of his kits come with detailed instructions/pictures and are good quality.  Any advice from him is well worth taking.

Dave.
