bye bye BeoSound 5

Just received from Switzerland this information.

It seems that the BeoSound 5 was stopped in production.

Sad news, as I really liked the user interaction and form factor.

A classic gone. I will miss it as much as Beocenter 9500, Beocenter 2300 and Beosound 9000. 

It's sad to see this gone. I absolutely love my BeoSound 5. Integrated into my MasterLink system, it feels like a natural part of my whole home. I think that the price point was always set too high. B&O later came out with the stripped-down, stand-alone Encore version at a more attractive price, but the Encore users were frustrated wanting the same features as the full BeoSound 5. 

Sounds like its time to give my dealer a bid regarding the demo BS5 that he has

What a shame. I adore my BS5. I guess they couldn't be selling too well although I know a couple of people who currently want one and are planning to buy one. The moment doesn't appeal to them as much.

I won't shed a tear - it has had it's time!
