It'a a high end intelligent speaker. As far as I remember internal code of the speakers S-40.

It will cost around 50.000 Euro/pair and brings B&O to the segment where B&O never been active before!

If it is a 50k speaker, I like their positioning: Go Hard, or Go Home!  About time they grew some balls :-)

Heard that rumor too. The same person told me that the BL5 would stay in production. Is there anyone who know if that is true? Hard to sell new BL5 when you can buy a second hand one for less of half the price. I know where I would spend my money.

How about aging components in such a complex speaker? Still worth to buy a new one in that respect.

50K speakers? *hypno* I just envy people who will be able to listen to them. Apart from those who will actually own a pair. :)

I believe it when I see them...

IMHO the 50K speaker segment is the "loony segment". Just had a wander of the High-End stores of Bangkok today at Siam Paragon shopping center. The whole industry has lost its mind.

Too long to list....

I will believe it when I see it also. If, as suggested here, Christmas is when to expect them, it is still a long way off and lots of time for additional delays, changes, and who knows what.

Bayerische, Siam Paragon is nuts!  When i was there last year in Bangkok, the B&O store in there had an old BeoCentre 1.  I just got home from Thailand, however I didn't go to Bangkok, just to Hua Hin, so I didn't get to see Siam Paragon.  That place is pretty expensive.

I go up to Siam Paragon about once a year from Pattaya, the prices are about double what you would expect to pay but I enjoy the visit as it's the only time I get to see B and O items in the flesh

bayerische are you in Thailand for long?

This definitely happened to me!  I bought new BeoLab 5's from my closest dealer (still about 1 hour away).  I unplugged them preceding a thunderstorm for safety (I didn't yet have a suitable surge protector).  After plugging them in, one speaker would not take the PIN to turn back on.  I was concerned that I had somehow entered a 4 digit code that really screwed things up, but I was told the master code would set everything right even if I did something incorrectly with entering codes.  Through discussions with my dealer and B & O USA, I got the "master" 5 digit code.  That didn't work either.

The dealer set out a repair person with the "suitcase."  I read that this includes everything for a BL5 except drivers and cabinet.  The repair person worked on everything in my basement and got everything going.  We also disabled the PIN system!

I later contacted my dealer to add a "center" speaker (BL 7-4) and "rear" speakers (BL3).  I got used versions in black which was great.  I think the dealer tried to make up for the problem with the BL5 as I got a good deal including written warranties for the used speakers.

Using it as a platform to debut their new Icepower tech and getting the high end industry to take them seriously perhaps. I always thought B&O priced and targeted the audio range too low. Good aesthetic + good workmanship + good sound = sky high price.

Yes please end that range. The Lab3s need an equivalent sized replacement. I need new computer speakers.

B&O should take advantage of the low commodities prices now and buy up a whole stock of Aluminum for its core range. The plastic looks are kinda unfortunate.

Bang & Olufsen have big financial problem

because they can not sale enough products.

The problem comes from BeoPlay products

Made in China with bad craftsmanship.

Bang & Olufsen should be made only in Denmark

to justify quality with a high price.

Very true guys, but, the super problem is if they can't sell their products how the heck are they going to sell a £40,000 speaker???

Take a look at this. The A8 is on the Apple UK store and there are only two reviews. Only one from 2015 and this is - so sad when this site is aiming at the young PLAY customer...

The sounds is great, but the connection with Airplay is rubbish, it doesnt connect when you want it to, and when it actually does connect it often loose connection. Adding to this, the customer support is appaling. I really want to like the Danish product, but unfortunately its absolutely terrible.  APPLE STORE SITE

I am sure this is only a (stupid) rumour. The only remaining music system from B&O (Moment) has no digital sound output and uses a streaming service without lossless streaming (Deezer and NOT Deezer Elite). Who on earth would buy a £40,000 speaker and use it with a Moment??

The moment has a digital output and can read uncompressed files from your NAS.

A simple software update and the can add an Uncompressed streaming service.

There is no coaxial or optical digital sound output, Powerlink is an analogue output.

Waiting for a software update can take years.

Will it be upgrading the Beolab 5 with new drivers?
