Dear Beoworld,

a big thank you to Michael from Lintronic.dk!!

We started a support session via teamviewer at about 10pm this evening and after my TT238 went weird we had to find the source for infrared noise. I switched off everything and sat there in darkness (despite my computer screen) and Michael suggested that it could be the display itself.
That let me thought immediately about the sensor of my NEC display that looks if somebody sits in front of it and guess what: That thing uses infrared!
I disabled the sensor and now I can copy remote controls again!

I'm so happy that everything worked out fine after all and that Michael helped me so late in the evening and we even solved it! Big Smile
Such a simple cause but I didn't thought of it until Michael told me.

Now I just have the configurator bug where every button is renamed back to "new function" even if I named it e.g. "dimmer". It gets renamed as soon as I learn another "new function". But that bug is more of a comfort problem. I'm sooooo glad that my Beo 5 didn't have to retire!

I have the Essense remote that I would like to use as a simple TV remote for BV7. Since it does not work from the box (you can only choose from Beoremote One, Beo4 radio and Light commands), I would like to program my Lintronic to read Essence commands and emit Beo4 TV signal. Actually, channel switch and volume up/down works, so I need to program only one button! :)

From the Lintronic software I can see that it reads Beoremote one signals, but my experiments with different Essense modes had no success so far.

Question. Can anybody say the correspondence between Essense commands (black dot in different modes) and BeoRemote One commands?

Then I will use this command from Essense and transfer it into Beo4 TV signal.

I remember that I have seen the iRobot Roomba codes in the Lintronic library, but cannot find it now. Maybe I am mistaken. At the moment Roomba 880 codes are not recognized by Lintronic.

Is there anyone who controls Roomba via Lintronic? What are the codes?

My plan is to add "I'm leaving" scene to BLGW, so BLGW will switch off the media, lights... and start the cleaner via Lintronic.

Hi

There is another easy and great way to integrate the essence remote control to control other Beo configured as you wish by using the mammutbox control.

www.mammutbox.com

It's not specified on their page yet but if you surf into their homepage and give the program interface a test run you will see that they have added support for the essence control so you can program it the way you wish.

Hi alls,

Looks like a pretty good solution!

I'm currently looking for a solution to control a non-B&O TV and a Mac mini with a beo4 and was led to the ONeRemote solution with I'm about to order.

The last iteration of the Lintronic solution is not really for me. First, it's expensive for my funds, and seems a bit complicated for my mind.
But above of all, i don't like the separate IR eye. I like integrated and hidden things and for that the previous model which could receive B&O flash from the main box was more interesting to me.

Anyway, what i like in the mammuthbox would be the ability to have the functionalities of the OneRemote solution PLUS the possibility to control IKEA light remote system, which happened to be cheap, easy, modulable and able to drive any led light.

Not to mention other possibilities i'm not aware at the moment.

So I've just emailed them to get more infos from them. Will also let me check how the support is.

I'll let you know… Enjoy your sunday.

I've been in contact with the mammutbox team some times and asked pre sales questions and they have been responsive.

I agree that the solution and possibility to script own OS X scrips on a Mac mini is good, there is pre made scripts for Spotify available.

Hi alls,

I've send an email to them 10 days ago but get no answer since…

Don't know if they're still in business.

Just for you to know. Have a good day.

Hello,

I am using the RT-238 for more than 3 years now. The idea of matching B&O IR commands to non B&O commands or copying a remote is great. I have found it extremely difficult though to set it up, and to be honest it does not work as I intended. I have contacted the lintronik team, it took quite a while till I got a response and to tell the truth it was not very helpful. It seems though that the source of the problem is that I am using a beo6. I am saying so cause when I use a beo4 it works, not perfectly but much better. I have to stress that the lintronik team offered a teamviewer session so they can have a closer look but as I am most of the day out of the home the session is not an option for me (given the time difference as well).

The problems I have run into:

When I memory map as a trigger DVD GO to the command Play of my Satellite receiver the command which is mapped to the trigger DTV GO is executed as well.

I tried to solve the problem by using the TT-IR-ET02 but it seems it does not work.

All in all I was tired a bit with the whole situation and I decided to switch to my iPhone as means of controlling my B&O devices as well as some lights curtains etc. To do so I am saving to buy a BLGW and before buying a device I double check that it is compatible with the BLGW.

PS I have the feeling that B&O is also moving towards this solution....but this is just my gut feeling!

Hello Mr. Lindgaard,

my intension when I decided to reply to the fellow Bang&Olufsen enthusiast was not to criticise you personaly but to share my experience about using one of your products the same way I would have done with friends seating in my living room.

As far as the responsibility about how beo6 works I totally agree it is not yours, but then what you state on your site is a bit different from my experience and I quote from your site: "We allow you to control more than 100 different products from the Beo4, Beo5, Beo6, BeoRemote One".

Moreover I feel somehow I am being attacked as if my post is fake and I only wrote it to damage your company's reputation. I can assure you that this was not my intension at all IT IS NOT AN ELEMENT OF MY CHARACTER.

The reason why I have not contacted you after your reply is simply because I had to write three times to you in order to get the first response. And by "write three times to you" I mean literally you not your site.

It is true that the configurator is very easy to program and very useful in copying IR codes from other remotes but as far as controlling devices is concerned (at least in my case) does not work as described.

I never implied that your site is censored.

As far as to where I decide to share my experiences (not my thoughts) it is totally my right and I do not have to take your permission to do so.

PS Next time that someone shares his negative experience about one of your products consider it as a feedback and not as an attack to your interests.

Kindest Regards

Anastasios Koitidis
