Hi

The AV Terminal might locked in link mode for operating link products in link option 4. An L appears on the little display. Is it possible to lock BeoLink 1000 or Beo4 in a similar way, or do I have to press LINK every time?

Best regards

Hi,

with beo 4 new model with joystick you can lock it to linkmode with zone, and with some older beo4 you could lock it with a "secret" code to link mode

but was long time ago i use it so i don't remember how, but will try to see if i can find it somewere...

On Beo4 go to config (standby button + list) and then press 2002. Not sure about BL1000.

Oh, sorry! Missed that... As far as I remember it would actually be the same combination. I use it for one of my own tv's that are a bit close to one of the others. Beo4 are really powerful remotes.

An old thread I know, but I have a couple of questions about the Beo4 'link-mode'.

I just set up a BC6-23 in my bedroom.  The bedroom overlooks the lounge (which contains my BC9500), so I put the BC6 in V.OPT 4 so that I could put a Beo4 in 'LINK' mode (as explained above) to control it without affecting the BC9500.

It works fine, but I have two questions:

- Does LINK-mode reduce the IR power of the remote?  It seems to be much more directional now.

- Should I be able to use the 'link-mode' Beo4 to still control the BC9500 by selecting/pressing 'LINK' before the control?  I can't get this to work, and it would be useful for when I want to lean over the balcony and control the BC9500.

Guy,

If the only Video master you have reachable via IR is the BC6, why not leave it in Option 1? Then the BC9500 can be in Option 1 too, and the Beo4 can be configured normally.

Is there some other equipment that you haven’t mentioned?

Thanks for the response Lawrence - even such an old thread!

Unfortunately if I put the BC6-23 in V.OPT 1 then I can't turn on its inbuilt radio.

Gotcha - if your BC6 has a Freeview tuner you can select that instead, and use the “radio” channels in the 7nn range. But then I guess you’d want to mute the picture. My ancient BV6 wasn’t able to do that.

Hello,

This approach does not seem to work on my Beo4's with joystick. Years ago I managed to put one of the in permanent link mode but now I do not need that so need to revert it. I have found this approach with 2002 to not work.

I have tried on two remotes with joystick and SW 7.0 and SW 8.0

Any other ideas please?

Thanks BeoMedia

Hi again,

I managed to find the answer myself so will post it here for future reference for anyone else wondering the same.

Apparently, with the even newer versions of Beo4 (at least SW 7.0 and 8.0 as I have) you only have to change "ZONE" to video, audio, al or link. The latter sets it into permanent link mode. Access "ZONE" is simply "std.by + list" and "list" until you see "zone". When coding "zone" you see current setting and can then "list" towards the setting you prefer.
