Hi, i'm struggling to get my BeoSound 9000 to work with my BeoLab 3500 which are wall mounted next to each other. The are connected via a ML cable.
I have been told to set the speaker to L-Opt 5 and the 9000 to A-Opt 1
Is this correct?
This seems to work for a time then it seems to forget and i have to program it all over again. I cover the speaker with a towel when i program the 9000 and then i cover the 9000 when i program the speaker. Red light flashes once on the 9000 and option 5 gets displayed on the speaker.
Any help welcome.
Hi and welcome to the Beoworld forum.
The BS9000 should be in A-Option 0, since it has no speakers connected.
Normally it senses, that it has none, and should be ready.
In this case the 9000 receives no ir-controls - the controls are given through the BL3500, which has to be in L-Option 6 (this is the factory setting).
This setup is not a typical one. Usually the 3500 is used in a seperate room, but I guess, it won't matter here.
Do remember to report back, if it works as you want it to.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Hi Millemissen
Thanks for your advice, I've tried what you suggested but still not working. I did have to cut the plug off one end of the ML cable to thread it through some conduit behind the wall so i will need to check all my solder joints. are you sure the 3500 should be set to L-OPT 6 not 5 as i did have it working when i first installed it
Thanks
Stuart
You should rather use a junction box to join both end of the ML cable than soldering.
Have a look in the MasterLink Handbook - this should give you the insight, that you need:

Great advice - thank you!
HI MM - I have a similar problem but with a Beosound 4 rather than a 9000 - are the option settings the same for a Beosound 4?
Terry
Yes....if both in the same room.
(It’s all in the linked handbook)
