I saw a tidy looking tape cover on a website, to cover the tape player on an overture when not in use (i.e. 99.99% of the time!)

Anyone known if I can buy it in the UK (or has one to sell)?

I did try to buy it on the Danish website but couldn't get past the payment screens, google translate didn't seem to tell me what the website was asking sadly. (was also trying to buy the B&O cd collection which looked like it might be interesting).

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Dave,  hope you get a reply to this as I'm hoping to obtain an Ouverture later in the year and where I live the dust is a big problem, sounds like a useful piece of kit

what was the name of the Danish site you saw it on

Thanks

I'll find it again and post it here. The site was ok using Google translate but I couldn't work out how to pay. It seemed that it wouldn't accept any of my cards, and by the looks of it only either a Danish card or bank transfer - that was where I lost the plot.

It did look like a nice accessory as it covered the void of the tape section with a nice bit of trim, which presumably kept the dust out as well.

Hopefully I can find it again - I got a link to the site from this forum where someone purchased a wireless setup.

Cheers

I have found a way to translate the payment pages, that appears to say I can only use a Dankort card not a Visa card, so it looks like I need to do a bank transfer. So I'm getting there.

The url of the tape cover is http://radioogtveksperten.dk/tilbehoer-44/diverse-56/bang-olufsen-b-o-daekplade-til-baandafspiller-100.html

I'll let you know if I get it ordered successfullyCrying

Looks like that isn't going to work as they don't supply an IBAN number to make payment

Email to customer services now I think

It's on the terms & conditions page, but they don't say international shipping anywhere and they'll obviously have different delivery costs if they agree to send abroad, so you'll have to contact them anyway.

Thanks for that, I did get an email last week saying they would ship to me so should be ok, just awaiting an email re payment so fingers crossed.

If it doesn't work its not the end of the world, I can probably cobble something together to do the same job (or just keep a cassette in there)

So I have managed to order and pay after getting the right info - not all that straightforward with my online banking, but looks like its worked.

Just await delivery  and see what happens

Well it arrived today along with a set of B & O cd's  - I haven't listened to them but I expect they are mixed to show off the speakers. A good selection of music on six cd's.

The cover looks quite good, although disappointingly there is a nick and a small dent in the surface which was only revealed when taking off the protective film, so I don't suppose the vendor would have know this. However its nice and shiny after a bit of metal polish and covers the tape mechanism nicely, so it looks neat when there is no tape in there. The marks don't show unless you are looking very closely and I plan to etch the surface with a logo or something anyway so probably won't matter.

So a result!

Pictures to follow when I get 5 mins.

A friend of mine 'invented' these years ago.

But he does not sell much through his website - he is more into (oldschool) WOM advertising.

The guy, you bought it from, either had it from him or had some remade.

Nothing much about them, but they do work fine!

They are easy to click in - and out, if you should need that.

They kind of give an Ouverture 'a new look'.
