Hi

I was asked recenlty if I knew of a decent sound-bar manufacturer. It crossed my mind that perhaps a sound bar from a one of the older BV40s might be possible as a full frequency range sound bar.

Is this possible or are all BV sound bars  .1  mono speakers only?

Thanks/Danke/Merci

7.1, 7.2, and 7.6 are all stereo speakers. And they sound amazing. On a table stand they are really nice looking also.

How about the vertical Beolab 7.4? Is it suitable for listening to music etc., too? Is it powerful enough as a center speaker?
I've never heard one.

I guess it would depend, it would probably be ok for background music but is likely to have been designed and configured as a centre speaker so I doubt it would be any good for serious listening, that's just a hunch though, based on the thought that goes into products - I thought my BV8 would be good enough for music listening in a small room but ended up getting my speakers back - it's fine for background but not really good enough for a listening session as it was designed primarily for TV watching

I guess the issue is more the connectivity than the mono/stereo.

Recent tv's have only optical out, where beolabs have powerline in. You need to convert, arange for a trigger signal, and volume control. Where a new cheap soundbar from the tv manufacturer can be connected without issues, and often has additional functionality like bluetooth. When you have a little more to spend maybe a sonos soundbar is an option. But it's not B&O of course.

BeoVision 11-55, BeoLab 8000, BeoRemote One BT, AppleTV 4, 2x BeoPlay A2, BeoPlay A1

I am using an BL7.1 on table stand, and my Samsung tv on the wall above it, BL7.1 is connected to a Beosound 3000, and TV via optical->converter->A.AUX to BS3000..

It sounds fantastic.
