Hello out there in B&O cyberspace

Anyone can advise the best speakers to use Redline 60.2 or CX100 for Beosystem 5500 - prefer passive speakers?

Thanks

Both very good speakers indeed for the money they make these days.

They're both very different in size though. Are you looking to floor mount, table mount, wall mount?!

Of those two, I like the sound of the RLs a LOT more. They won't necessarily need any work either, whereas the CXs will have rotten bass surrounds unless they have been repaired already.

But as Lee says, practicalities may rule over other criteria.

Thanks for your advice, yes thinking the the Redline may look the part, and I understand that I can set them on their sides on the floor, am I correct in my assumption?  David

There should be a set of legs, from memory a steel W shape that is held under tension and acts as the easel backrest for the speaker. So not on their sides ( may work, I don't know ) but rather leaning back on their haunches Big Smile

I can attest that the redlined sound very good indeed with the 5500. I was always surprised at the amount of apparent bass produced by these speakers. Have you considered anything non-B&O (possibly sacrilege on this site!)? I tested my 5500 with a set of Yamaha near field studio monitors and was very impressed...

Luke - many thanks for your suggestion, but I want to stay with B&O throughout.  It has taken me years to have my systems sorted out so I will go with 60.2 Redlines.

Much appreciated.
